    CO - Ronald Vasey, 65, Missing since 1987

    Remains in Colorado car identified as man missing since 1987

    GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Authorities in western Colorado say a human skeleton found in a partially buried car belongs to a man who was reported missing 26 years ago.

    The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports the Mesa County Coroner's Office identified the man on Monday as 65-year-old Ronald Vasey. He went missing in 1987.............

    The coroner's office says it appears Vasey committed suicide.

    I did a number of searches and didn't come up with anything about Ronald Vasey. It appears that it was reported, probably accepted as a possible suicide, and no one ever posted anything anywhere else. Sad, his wife is deceased now too. He's found now so RIP Ronald.....

    The sheriff's department says someone hiking near John Brown Canyon Road, near Gateway, called 911 at about 6 p.m. Thursday and reported discovering the wreckage of a vehicle below a cliff.

    a note perhaps? They found personal belongings in his car.

    Officials also believed he had killed himself, a theory long-held by his wife of 40 years Audrey who died in January 2001 aged 76.
    "His wife was inclined to say he probably went out and did some harm to himself," Heather Benjamin, spokeswoman for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, told KJCT8.com.
