Tim Bosma: The painful search for a missing man
The Star
Monday, May 20, 2013
Timothy Hank Lenard Bosma
was born on Aug. 12, 1980. He grew up in a subdivision in Ancaster, where his parents, Hank and Mary, still live.

He went to Calvin Christian School before attending Ancaster High School, but spent much of his time at the Ancaster Christian Reformed Church, where he met most of his closest friends.

“He loved anything with an engine,” said Gary Kikkert, who was the best man at Bosma’s wedding.

John Veenstra, pastor at the Ancaster church Bosma attended with his wife and two-year-old daughter, said Sharlene Bosma decided to have a public service for her husband, and that the family remains grateful for the public support shown throughout their ordeal.
The service will be at Carmen's on Stonechurch Road East in Hamilton 11 a.m.

Rest in peace Tim Bosma and may your family and friends have the strength to get through the next few days. May your daughter be reminded of your gentle soul as she grows up.

It's been a long time since I've been in a church or listened to Christian music but I was curious about the song that was sung at almost 250 CR churches this past Sunday so I googled it and WOW, the last verse is so fitting to this case.
RIP Tim Bosma, may your family and friends find peace and comfort In Christ Alone.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

Thank you, Matou. With all this talk about DM, it's nice to remember the real victim in this whole thing.

Here, here. Perfectly said. The gallery on the In Memory of Tim Bosma website has me crying all over again. Though they live 10 minutes from us, we do not know the family. But the sadness is overwhelming. I guess it is easy for any of us to keep grief at bay to one degree or another depending on whether or not we have a connection to the person suffering....but living nearby and working in the community makes the emotion inescapable. My heart goes out to Tim Bosma's family and friends.

“(He was) a regular average guy who loved his family and his friends, who worked hard,” Sharlene Bosma said. “It is difficult to accept that this regular average guy did a regular average thing, which so many do on a daily basis, and it tragically cost him his life.”

“But for me, it didn’t happen to just anyone,” she said, fighting back tears. “It happened to my husband and the father of our child. Tim is my someone. He is my person, my other half.”

such a beautiful couple -- very very sad

Rest in peace Tim.

We wish we could roll back time and have prevented this nightmare. =-(

Condolences to your family and friends.

I think what hurts most of us is the tragedy of a life cut short-Tim did not get to live out his life, w/ his wife & daughter beside him, & his family will also be denied these memories....but I hope the memories they have of him will sustain them....I wish future happiness to his family, once they have recovered...his spirit can live on with them....

& although I wish that his family could recover, I realize that will be almost impossible, & it is not fair that his daughter will not get to grow up w/ her dad,it is NOT fair at all, & I hope that the perpetrators will carry this guilt & knowledge with them, for the rest of their lives...that sounds petty & cruel, but you have to be responsible for your actions.

I'm sorry this happened to you and your loved ones.

RIP Tim

People identify with murder victim Tim Bosma: former RCMP officer

“I think there are people in society who have a real fear when they see someone preying on someone that’s kind of like them,” he added. “People are wired to be curious and they’re also wired to look at things that are bizarre.”

When Tim Bosma was laid to rest last week, more than 1,000 attended the public funeral and offered condolences to Sharlene Bosma, who — a week before her husband’s burned remains were found on a North Dumfries farm on May 14 — gave a heartbreaking plea for his safe return.
