Sheriff Carpenter had been checking a home that was flooded.
State police spokesman Bill Sadler would not say how many deaths were confirmed from the flooding or whether they involve the missing Sheriff Cody Carpenter and the game warden.
Sadler says the pair disappeared while checking on a home in the Y City area where floodwaters had risen.

We're told Scott Co. Sheriff Cody Carpenter was attempting to help evacuate the residents of a home that was being overtaken by the flood.
