Police say they had a report of a woman struggling with an unknown man in front of her residence on Sussex Drive around 8:50 a.m.

Neighbors reportedly tried to intervene when the man threatened them, put the woman in the car, and drove way.

Police did not immediately have a suspect description.

The vehicle is described as a silver 2010 Lincoln MKZ with a specialty black and white "T" license plate 2GYDW.

The woman’s Lincoln still remains missing, and police are looking for the suspect, described as a black man in his 40s with a bald head and a stocky build. He was wearing a white or purple shirt and dark pants.

Well at first I feared it was a son - then saw ages and thought whew no it can't be. Now if she is in her 80's...well ugh I hope not anyway

According to police, a witness saw a woman in her 80s pull into her driveway on Sussex Drive at about 8:30 a.m. and a man approach her vehicle.

Soon after, the man began assaulting the woman and the witness tried to intervene, police said. The witness and the man struggled, but he was able to get into her car and drive away.

At 10 a.m., police said they found the woman's body on the 1900 block of Kimberly Drive. Police said the woman, whose name has not yet been released, suffered trauma to her head.

In her 80s and disabled. What a terrible way to have your life ended. Rest in peace, dear woman.

Police became involved around 8:30 a.m. when they were called to a house in the 400 block of Sussex, between Matlock Road and Collins Street, just north on Interstate-20.

The address is where a witness told authorities that he saw a woman in her 80s being approached by a man, as she pulled into her driveway. The witness said the man began assaulting the woman as she sat inside her car and he ran over to help. Both men got into a struggle, but the suspect was able to get in the car, with the woman still inside, and drive away.

Police searched for the suspect, kidnapped woman and vehicle to avail. Then, less than two hours later, the body of the woman was found in the 1900 block of Kimberly Drive. While the woman’s exact cause of death isn’t known, police say she had obvious, severe head trauma. The victim’s name has not been released.

The area where the woman’s body was found is about three miles from the house on Sussex.
