NY - DEA: Suburban mom by day, pot grower by night
New York (CNN) -- The mother of two would often drive back and forth between her suburban Scarsdale, New York, home and the bleak-looking, one-story brick warehouse in Queens. Sometimes, she drove the route in her Mercedes SUV. She probably thought about her girls, 3 and 13. Maybe she was thinking of the horseback riding lessons with her teenager, and the new horse they were hoping to buy.
One thing perhaps not on her mind was being arrested and accused of living a double life: as a suburban mom and also as head of a multimillion-dollar marijuana growing operation. She faces federal narcotics charges.

The war on marijuana is such a bunch of BS. Now I think this woman was kinda way overboard with what she was doing in terms of how large her operation was.
But I do NOT believe that MJ should be illegal. It should be legalized and taxed if sold. Stop spending millions on a stupid war on MJ and legalize it and reap the profits.SwampMama

However, that article fails to mention the larger connection she had to other operations. Those large operations are often connected to some criminal element... this woman is part of the problem, she obviously didn't need that much mula either and I'm sure didn't pay taxes
The federal investigation of Sanderlin began following the April arrest of five men for their alleged roles in a marijuana grow business operating from two New York City warehouses. That organization, agents allege, was headed by Stephen Haberstroh, a 50-year-old Scarsdale resident who is a longtime friend of Sanderlin (the pair have previously shared addresses in Queens and Manhattan). Jacques Coupet, who was arrested with Haberstroh, is one of Sanderlin’s 34 Facebook friends.
One member of the busted quintet began cooperating with federal investigators and fingered Sanderlin (whom he knew as “Andi”) as the operator of “at least one marijuana grow house in Brooklyn or Queens,” according to the criminal complaint sworn by DEA Agent David Lee.
Her mother lived in Virginia and it was there that Andrea Schmalz met and married William Sanderlin, with whom she had a son, Jason, at the age of 18. The couple, who filed for bankruptcy in 1991, split up and Jason Sanderlin stayed with his father. Jason Sanderlin had two marijuana arrests in Virginia and Maryland and now lives in New York.
Cheryl Sanderlin, William Sanderlin's ex-wife and Jason Sanderlin's, stepmother, told The Journal News on Wednesday that she couldn't talk about the case, as federal investigators were planning to interview her.
"He had custody of their son, and I raised him," she said. "(Andrea is) estranged from her relatives and you can understand why."
...When they searched the Scarsdale home, agents found $6,000 and books on laundering money and growing marijuana, according to the affidavit.
Quinn indicated that the warehouse had recently run up Con Ed bills of $9,000 per month and were paid in cash, and that two previous addresses linked to Sanderlin in Brooklyn and the Bronx had unpaid Con Ed balances of $2,600 and $11,500 respectively. High electricity use is consistent with growing marijuana, Quinn wrote in the affidavit.
