.... McCarthy’s maroon 2004 extended cab Ford Ranger was seen in Doyle the afternoon he called in sick, but neither he, nor the truck have been seen since.
He is described as white, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 215 pounds. He has short brown hair and hazel eyes.The best advice I give to my children: Tell the truth - whether you like it or not.

Caltrans workers search for missing co-worker

According to Caltrans, McCarthy called in sick to work on June 3 and his neighbor saw his truck in McCarthy's hometown of Doyle, Calif. McCarthy has not been seen or heard from since.

He is described as a Caucasian male, 6’2” tall, 215 lbs. He has brown, short hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen driving a maroon 2004 extended cab Ford Ranger with California License plates #82362B1.

Police believe they have found Patrick's body.
It has not been confirmed.

Patrick Francis McCarthy passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45.
Memorial services will be at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary 250 Race St., Grass Valley, 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 2.
Patrick was born Aug. 23, 1967, in San Leandro, Calif., to John and LaQuita McCarthy. He graduated from San Lorenzo High School.
Patrick had a wonderful sense of humor and always found the positive side of everyone and everything. He was a man of outstanding and unwavering morals and values. From birth, he was a self-made, self-sufficient planner and chose his path in life carefully. He had a profound effect on all who knew him. Patrick had a respect for nature and traveled deep into the corners of the forest and desert.
He was a member of the operating engineers unit 12. He was employed by CalTrans for 12 years. He enjoyed motorcycling, hiking, camping and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his mother, LaQuita McCarthy; his children, Lindsey Ann (mother Nancy Fulton), Noah Patrick and Steven Michael (mother Christi McCarthy); sisters Jacquelynn Deleon and Lyne McCarthy; aunt and uncle Margaret and Michael Crocker; niece Lynita McCarthy; nephew Trent Felty; and grand-nephew Carlos Henriquez.
He was preceded in death by his father, John McCarthy.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
