A 19-year-old was arrested after he allegedly shook, dropped and bit an 8-month-old.

According to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, Dakota Doss called 911 to report that his girlfriend's baby was choking and having difficulty breathing. He performed CPR on the baby until emergency crews arrived at the home.

It happened on June 2 in the 3700 block of Cobb Road in Williamsburg.

The baby was taken to a nearby hospital then transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, determined to have a brain bleed, multiple bruising and a human bite mark on her inner left thigh.

Authorities say Doss and the baby's mother, Katrina Parker, had been dating for the past five months. At the time of the 911 call, Doss was home alone babysitting the 8-month-old while the mother was at work.

There, doctors discovered bleeding on her brain, bruising, and evidence of a human bite on her inner thigh.

From FHC's dailymail link above..

Dakota Doss, 19, who was babysitting his girlfriend of five months Katrina Parker’s 8-month-old while she was at work,

out of jail on $100,000 bond.

At 2am Wednesday morning, Doss changed his Facebook profile photo from one in which a girl is seen kissing him to one in which he’s holding an infant child in the air, kissing it.

Unfreaking believable. When will people learn, and why do babies have to pay for the stupidity of adults?

I was ready to judge until I looked into this case more.

This was more than just a "boyfriend babysitting."
The boyfriends family has pictures of this baby that were posted before this happened.

I think this guy was raising this child as his own.
The boyfriends family certainly views Baby C that way!

I bet Dakota's brother is completely devastated right now. He clearly ADORES this baby girl!

Dakota's facebook, the picture mentioned of him kissing C was posted by baby C's mother:

Dakota also has A LOT of supporters INCLUDING member's of the mother's family. :thud:

How long did Dakota have Baby C that day and who had the baby BEFORE Dakota?

I'm going to withhold judgment right now. :twocents:

As a side note... Baby's initials are CMA. I haven't forgotten Caylee either.

For eight months?

No, sounds like he met Mom after the baby was born.
There are not pictures of him with newborn Baby C.

It just sounds like this was more than "Mom's boyfriend."
"Mom's boyfriend" doesn't generally have a family this involved in the baby's life.

i am speechless after seeing thebdudes fb,
he's adding 100 new friends a day probably.
these women are flocking to him,
i dont u derstand why

A human bite mark on the inside of the babies thigh???? I don't care what my relationship is with a child, let me see a bite mark on them and I am taking them to the ER. You can't judge a person on how well their family adopts a child of a bf/gf.

I am aware I can't judge based on that.
However, multiple people regularly watched this child.

So how long did Dakota have her that day and who had her before?
Was she sick? Why would he lose it that day and not another day?

I know my reluctance to assume guilt is not popular... however, I have been right before.
When the victim's family is still associating with the accused and so many are defending him...
That makes me pause before assuming guilt. I like to see the proof of guilt.

I would rather be wrong about someone's possible innocence than to falsely accuse them. :twocents:

More of the baby's maternal family have also become friends with him on facebook in the last 2 days. :twocents:

February 2015:

Dr. John Galaznik testified for the defense. He's with the University of Alabama Student Health Center. He testified that humans can't shake children hard enough to cause such injuries and choking might have caused the bleeding in Cataleya's brain.

"That's a bunch of crap," said Dr. Bob Sharpiro. "Little children don't choke on formula in such a way they convulse and cause traumatic brain injury."Dr. Shapiro called courtrooms a bad place to debate medical science, since juries and judges haven't been to medical school.

February 2015:

A 21-year-old will spend three years in jail after being convicted of shaking, hitting and biting an 8-month-old in a 2013 incident that kept the child in intensive care unit for three weeks.

Dakota Doss, of Amelia, was sentenced Thursday for two felony counts of endangering children.

Cataleya is almost 2 1/2 now and suffers seizures. She has regained her sight, but she wears glasses and her lazy eye is getting worse and requires frequent attention.

The hurt from her abuse will last a lifetime, her grandmother said...

Doss spoke, too. His voice cracked and he paused several times.

"Your Honor, not a day goes by that I don't think about that night," Doss said. "After I got incarcerated, the worst part was not knowing how Cataleya was."

Doss' family also feels victimized. His mother said they have been demonized and they will live with his actions forever.

I'd say he got off easy. He'd get a lot more than 3 years from me.
