    WI - Julia Majette, 25, Madison, 12 June 2013

The husband was shot several times but survived and apparently he is not cooperating with police. Suspects are still at large. Three children were in the home at the time but are now safe.

At least two of the three young children at home Wednesday night when their parents were shot witnessed some of the gun violence, Madison police said.

"They gave police some information," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "They are very traumatized."

Police have not released the names of any suspects involved in the shooting, but DeSpain said the crime did not appear to be random.
Hmm wonder what is up. At first I was thinking he was concerned for the safety of his children, now I am left thinking drugs or he is involved. jmo

Something seems off to me. Why would her husband NOT cooperate?? That doesn't make sense. Unless he has selfish reasons not to... but obviously that's total speculation on my part with the little info I have.

ETA: Not that it necessarily matters but it's a fairly poor neighborhood. That whole road has a lot of low income housing. Not all, but quite a bit. I don't know if this house is in that same area or not. I'm going to drive by on my way home from work tonight and scope it out.

Odd they'd be doing this on such a stormy night. Wonder if there was a reason for doing this at that time.

UPDATE: Two suspects still at large after Madison homicide; injured husband not cooperating. Right now the relationship between the shooters and the victims is unknown. But, police believe this is a targeted crime.
It says update but the info is unchanged. It says something to me when the wife is killed and the husband has non life threatening injuries. jmo

    BBM

I thought that too. Not necessarily for the most obvious reason, but it could be possible that it was a message/warning to him. It seems to me that most people under those circumstances would be more concerned with making sure the man was dead since he'd probably be a bigger threat. MOO

Madison police say it's too early to tell if gunfire on the city's Southwest side Thursday morning is connected in any way with the homicide Wednesday night on the Far East Side.

Authorities identify mother who was murdered.

From this article, I'm wondering if maybe drugs were a motive.

Another article with pretty much the same information. Sounds like the husband is talking to police now, which is good.
