SC - Soren Chilson, 5, beaten to death, Lancaster County, 5 March 2013

    Justice for Soren

Soren died at 5 years old on March 5, 2013.
Soren was covered in bruises head to toe.
She had a broken collarbone healing.

Soren died of blunt force trauma to the head.
It is believed he also tried to drown her.

Soren's Mom has since married the man who beat her to death.

And early Tuesday, police say, Soren, who just turned 5 in January, was beaten to death at her home on Craig Farm Road, which she shared with her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, Phillip Bryan Gleason, 27.

    -------------------------

“This Bryan guy...he had a very imposing demeanor,” she said. “He was very domineering. I met him and didn’t like him.”

Despite a grandmother’s plea that “a tiny little girl had no chance to fight off a monster,” a judge set a $150,000 bond Friday for the wounded Iraq War veteran accused of beating his girlfriend’s daughter to death outside Lancaster earlier this month.

Yet for the first time, the lawyer for accused child killer Phillip Gleason offered a defense in the case, saying that shaken baby cases are “junk science” and Soren Chilson’s death from brain injuries is consistent with choking after a seizure.

The man accused in the death of a 5-year-old Lancaster County girl has posted bond.

    Phillip Gleason, 27, was released
from the Lancaster County Detention Center on Monday after making bail.

Captain Craig Bailey in video, testifying in court AGAINST him getting bond.

"Your Honor I've been doing this for 24 years and a few months.
I've worked too many of these types of cases...
    Soren's little body..." *chokes up*
"It's hard to even talk about but...
you could hardly even put your hand on that body and not touch bruises."

Slain Lancaster girl ‘a child to be celebrated’

“She was the light of his life,” Chilson-Cole said. “She idolized her daddy.”

The last time Chilson-Cole saw her niece was in November,
when the family spent Veterans Day in a park in Columbia.

“She did not want to leave her daddy,” Chilson-Cole recalled.

Remembering Jeremy Chilson - Soren's Daddy

Jeremy left December 10, 2012 convinced he would never see his daughter again.
Jeremy went out with friends on December 21, 2012.
He went into respiratory distress (from taking something) and the people with him did not call for help.
Jeremy died at 26 years old on December 22, 2012.

HOW can this woman marry him after he killed this beautiful little girl??

Another thing, how do these defense lawyers sleep at nite? I know, everyone is entitled to representation, but how in the world do these lawyers ever get one wink of sleep?

There's no way in Hades this 'mother' did not know about the head to toe bruises and who caused them.

Both of 'em ought to be put in prison for life. And neutered, in case of parole.

What in the heck? This guy is out now but still has trial, correct? No jury will let him walk if what the LE captain said is true about her being covered in bruises.
What a gorgeous face and the light in her eyes ! I love this little girl .
It's a sad day on ws today, everyone be warned.

Some of them probably don't sleep too well at night. However, if there was no defense lawyer, the defendant couldn't be tried, would walk free automatically and the criminal justice system would cease to function. So its not just that the defendant has a right to representation, society has a right to see justice done too.

As for the mother marrying the accused, I can't find any words that aren't rude so I'll just say nothing at all.

    Unhappy

Another case of mother putting her child in harms way because she has to be with a man. What the heck is wrong with these women. I just do not get it. Are these men worth the well-being of the precious children?
    Why does this keep happening?

Soren's family has posted on the facebook to say that people are still fighting for justice.
We all know here that justice can take time. Yes, it may be a year or two until it goes to trial.
But Soren's family wants to assure everyone that "those responsible" for Soren's death will pay.

I will never understand how these so called 'mothers' can marry the abusers and murderers of their children. I just cannot comprehend the cold callous evil heartedness that it describes. There is a special place in hell for all of them.

There is a special place in hell for them, but too bad these momsters get to live a long long time after their innocent children are murdered and not mourned nor missed.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Such a precious little girl, I can't imagine how someone could hurt her. There's such a presence about her, you can tell she's the kind of child that just drew everybody in.

I have no words for the man who did this, or the woman who gave birth to her (because there's no way I can call her a 'mother'). I just hope that justice is served for little Soren and her daddy.
Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.
