Tribal police seek public's help finding St. Ignatius woman missing since June 16
June 24, 2013 10:15 am • By Vince Devlin, Missoulian

ST. IGNATIUS – Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police are asking people to keep an eye out for a St. Ignatius woman last seen on June 16.

Mary Jean “Bugs” Decker was last seen in the Silver Dollar Bar in St. Ignatius on that day, a Sunday.

The next day – before she was reported missing – her vehicle was discovered, with its flashers on and no one inside, southeast of St. Ignatius near St. Mary’s Lake Road and Repass Trail.

The car, which was reportedly out of gas, was eventually towed. When family members requested CSKT law enforcement perform a welfare check on Decker on June 20, tribal officers knew where her vehicle had last been on June 17.

CSKT Chief of Police Craige Couture said his department is following up several potential leads.

Decker is 52 years old, 5-foot-10, between 180 and 200 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact tribal police at 675-4700

That's a loooong time to be missing from somewhere so remote.......
Six-year-old Shannon Sherrill disappeared from her front yard in Thorntown, Indiana in October, 1986. Someone knows where she is......

Sadly, it appears they have found Mary Jean deceased.

"The body was discovered in the same clothing that 52-year-old Mary Jean "Bugs" Decker was wearing when she was last seen leaving a St. Ignatius bar.

Yonkin says it appears Decker fell into an irrigation canal and was able to get out, but died after that. "

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
