    UK - Yulia Solodyankina, 22, Glasgow, 7 June 2013

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...-fife-23047299

"The last confirmed sighting of Yulia Solodyankina, 22, had been at the Wee Red Bar in Lady Lawson Street on Thursday 6 June.

The footage shows Miss Solodyankina in South Bridge, close to Infirmary Street junction, at 14:50 on Friday 7 June.

She was later on CCTV at Glasgow's Buchanan Street bus station, at 16:55.

CCTV shows her wearing a dark coat with belt, dark shoulder bag, a red and orange coloured scarf, grey trousers, and brown shoes with white laces.

Miss Solodyankina, who speaks fluent English with a strong Russian accent, is 5ft 6ins tall, with a small mole on her left cheek.

Her ears are pierced and she wears a number of rings on her fingers, in particular a distinctive thumb ring, shaped like a small spoon.
    "

WHEN friends last saw bubbly Yulia Solodyankina she was tired, but happy. The Russian-born student had just completed a gig at an Edinburgh bar with drumming and dance group Anansi and headed home for a relatively early night.

The following day, she sent routine messages to a friend and her boyfriend and all seemed well.

But that was more than a week ago, and Yulia has not been seen or heard from since.

The 22-year-old has vanished leaving her phone and laptop behind in the city flat she shared with friends who are now becoming increasingly concerned for her safety.

Yulia, who has been studying physics in the Capital for four years, was last seen leaving The Wee Red Bar at Edinburgh College of Art just after 9pm on Thursday, June 6.

Friends first noticed something was amiss when she did not turn up to perform at Musselburgh Children’s Gala Day on Saturday. They said it was totally out of character for her as she was looking forward to appearing on stage.

She was scheduled to perform with Anansi at around noon"

    I'm confused.

There seem to be two different reports with two different "last confirmed sightings"? The bus station at 4.55pm and then there is The Wee Red Bar at 9.00pm. Yet that isn't actually the last contact she had with people? Is that right? She sent texts the following day, but no one saw her. If she was having an early night, did none of her flat mates go home that night? Did she definitely make it home?

So, what I'm getting at is ... did something happen to her in her flat? From the reports, it doesn't say that any of the people she lived with actually saw her.

No news about where the phone pinged from?

Wondering if the texts were really from her ..... or if they were texts she'd sent the night before but delivery was delayed. That happens to me a lot - my husband often receives my texts hours after I send them. Or if someone sent them pretending to be her. Easy to copy her style if she had old texts on her phone.

I am reminded of the Emaan Shah case.

I wonder if Yulia's disappearance is linked to her forthcoming graduation (for which her father was travelling to Scotland).

Yes, especially since the police are now saying there is cctv footage of her the day after she was initially reported to be seen for the last time.

The family of missing woman Yulia Solodyankina have appealed for her to make contact.

Speaking directly to her daughter in a statement, Yulia’s mother Ekaterina said:

“Yulechka, do you remember, I told you that I love you whatever you do, whatever happens to you?

Police released CCTV of the Yulia yesterday which showed her inside Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow.

"She is due to graduate from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in physics on Monday 1st July"

"Police released CCTV of the Yulia yesterday which showed her inside Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow.

She is seen walking across the station’s concourse, enters a newsagent, after a minute she leaves, turns around and walks out of view below the information sign.

Previously released footage showed the student walking in South Bridge in Edinburgh, close to the junction with Infirmary Street, at 2.50pm prior to her bus journey.

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or the charity Missing People, where information can be passed by calling, emailing, or sending a text to 116 000"

"There are no hopeless situations in life. Everything can be overcome."

I'm quoting Mom from the article dotr linked above. Sounds like Mom knows something we don't.

At 00:35 in this cctv video, is Yulia speaking to a tall slim white-shirted person with a camera?

Yulia will have received her exam results already. I wonder what they were? Under a certain grade (say a 2:1) might have been a disappointment for her, or meant she couldn't easily follow the career path she had chosen.
