Officer finds son mortally wounded at fight scene
PATERSON, New Jersey (AP) -- A police officer responding to a report of a fight found that the mortally wounded victim was his son.

From June 2007:
Superior Court Judge Randolph Subryan sentenced 26-year-old Rashawn Capers to 40 years without parole for the murder of 20-year-old Dayshawn Smith and 12 years for the attempted murder of Smith's friend, 17-year-old Raheem Pickens. The sentences are to be served consecutively...
Capers was convicted in February of murder, attempted murder and three weapons offenses for his role in a March 27, 2005, street fight outside a Paterson after-hours club.
