Christian's family reported him missing May 22. They say he vanished and all communication from him was cut off.

Police have been searching since but need a strong lead.
"We don't know if anything bad has happened to him or not, but he's certainly being looked for, not only by our department, but his friends and family, and community," said TPD Sgt. Joe Heffernan.

A 41-year-old Toledo man was indicted today for the June 10, 2011, death of his son. Michael Taylor II, who is currently incarcerated at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on an unrelated case, is charged in Lucas County Common Pleas Court with two counts each of aggravated murder with a firearms specification. One is for the shooting death of Montelle Taylor, 17.

He is also accused in the death of Christian Snow-Veley, 22, whose decomposed body was found in a vacant North Toledo house last summer.

Also accused in Snow-Veley's death is Elijah Dyer, 21, of 824 Woodard. He is charged with murder with a firearms specification.

To collect on a life-insurance policy that Michael Taylor II hoped he could use to bail his oldest son out of jail, he’s accused of orchestrating the death of another son... Montelle was riding his bicycle on Auburn Avenue, near Bancroft Street in Toledo’s central city, when he was shot twice in his chest and once in an arm at about 1:20 a.m...

“This is the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Toledo Police Department,” said Jeff Lingo, chief of the criminal division for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Lingo said the case against the suspects includes “allegations of insurance policies purchased for the victims.” He declined to say how much the insurance policies were worth, who purchased the plans, and if any money was paid out...

Montelle told neighbors he didn’t feel safe in his home, not after his older half-brother, Michael C. Taylor III, shot and killed Darrin Smith, a neighbor and friend. After Smith’s death, Montelle was jumped, beaten, and picked on. He became an unwanted presence in the only place he ever considered home. “He just wanted to belong,” said neighbor Cenia Prior, after Montelle’s death. “He felt like an outsider.”

Michael Taylor II took out $575,000 in life insurance policies on his son, Montelle Taylor, before he had the 17-year-old killed, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor asserted in court Wednesday.

Andy Lastra told Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda that Taylor also arranged for about $470,000 in insurance policies on the life of Christian Snow-Veley...

Jeff Lingo, chief of the criminal division for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, said after the arraignment that he could not comment on how much of the insurance proceeds Taylor is believed to have collected from the two men’s deaths.

For a man who had his son killed, then killed a young man he considered his son, two life sentences without the possibility of parole was the only fitting punishment, a Lucas County judge said Monday...

Taylor, 41, of 263 E. Hudson St. was found guilty Thursday of two counts of aggravated murder with two firearm specifications for the June 10, 2011, slaying of Montelle Taylor, 17, and the May 27, 2013, shooting death of Christian Snow-Veley, 22...

With a promise of a share of the proceeds, Snow-Veley shot Montelle near Auburn Avenue and Bancroft Street under the pretense that he, Montelle, and Christian Jackson were going out to commit a robbery... Some two years later, when Snow-Veley began talking about Montelle’s murder and complaining that Taylor never paid him for carrying it out, Taylor shot him in the basement of his Hudson Street house.

From August:

A Toledo man was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years in prison Thursday for taking part in killing a friend and leaving the body to decompose in a vacant home.

Elijah Dyer, 21, of 4031 Walker Ave. pleaded no contest before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook to involuntary manslaughter with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, and abuse of a corpse.

The charges stem from the May 27, 2013, shooting death of Christian Snow-Veley...
