COLUMBUS, Ohio - Robert Lee Wells is now officially a free man.
Wells was released from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Facility Saturday morning after serving a 25 year sentence.
Wells stabbed 14-year-old Barbara Sue Caulley to death in 1988.
The Franklin County prosecutor objected to the state’s decision to release Wells without any restrictions.
Caulley’s family did not comment on the Wells release.

Free to go anywhere he desires. He raped and murdered Barbara Sue Caulley but the judge only convicted him of vol. manslaughter. So, not a registered sex offender.

10 years ago many things were different. Ohio is a lot harder on them now. If that had happened recently he could have gotten the death penalty.

But in the past many times they would plead them down. And we don't know either if it was a good case, or if it was one of those that the evidence was borderline and they weren't sure if the case would hold up in trial. Often they plead those too.
 
No restrictions? No anything? I have no doubt we'll be hearing about him again.
 
No telling how many girls he raped before he killed one and got convicted.
Letting him out is a guarantee he will do it again, but this time he has had 25 years to figure out how not to get caught. Disgusting.
