I just made a VERY worrisome finding.

Apparently Jack Culolias's friends claim that when he disappeared on 11/30/2012, a cop had forced jack into a taxi cab and that was the last time he was seen!!!

" On Friday night November 30th, at approximately 11:00 PM, Jack Culolias was reportedly escorted from a popular bar named Cadillac Ranch in the Tempe Marketplace by a security guard and/or police officer. Eyewitnesses say he was then forced into a taxicab, but officials have not confirmed this aspect of the case yet. The California native left behind his wallet and his cell phone, and no one has seen or heard from him since."

This is really freaking me out. His body was found in near Tempe Town Lake in a riverbed I believe.

There was also Willy Rigby who was known to be happy and generous. He was found in Tempe Town Lake in January of 2011 a few weeks after disappearance, leaving a party and walking home to McClintock and University only to never be seen alive again.

I would NOT be walking around Tempe alone ... And considering what happened to Jack and AS, I don't know if I'd call a cab or trust the police either after reading about jack.

The date of the article you quoted was December 6, before his body was found. The writer states that the cab story had not been confirmed. As it turns out, it is true that he was escorted out of the bar, and a bouncer claims he did tell JC to take a cab. Eventually his body turned up in the Salt River. There is some question about how he reached the area where his body was located.

Later in the night, several people saw Culolias urinating on the balcony, the document shows. Security was notified and he was escorted out of the bar, where he was seen leaving down the south stairwell. One bouncer said he told Culolias to go to the cabs.

On Dec. 16, his body was pulled from an area of the Salt River northeast of Tempe Marketplace.

One of the biggest questions police will now try to answer is how Culolias made it from the bar to where his body was found. The distance is more than 300 yards and requires climbing a fence and traversing a steep embankment into the river bed.

Willie Jigba drowned in the lake after walking home from a party on January 15, 2011. It was said that he tried to catch a ride home with others at the party, but he was turned down. :(

Jigba's roommate, said that after Jigba disappeared, people he talked to at the party said he tried to get a ride home but someone refused. So he decided to walk the approximately 2 1/2 miles home from an apartment near Curry and Scottsdale roads to their apartment near University and McClintock drives.

Tempe Police Department spokeswoman Molly Enright said police quickly retrieved the body, later identified as 21-year-old Tempe resident Gerrick Begay. Investigators are not sure how Begay wound up in the lake.

In addition, two others died in accidental drownings recently. One in October, and one in April.

2Hip2BSquared and I both have been a bit hinkified regarding the multiple ASU students found dead in and near Tempe Town Lake, so decided to start this thread to explore the possibility without derailing any other threads.

There was Jack Culolias and Willie Jigba before him, and there's 'Adrienne Salinas still missing now just to name a few ASU students in the Tempe area who are relevant to this line of thinking.

So far it's always ASU students who go missing after a night of partying. This is a standard common thread in all the cases we've been discussing between ourselves.

I will be editing this post with links to websleuths threads and MSM reports etc but this post is a work in progress and I hope you'll all forgive me for that and give me time to get it put together. I have an appointment in a bit as well that may keep me from putting everything here that I find interesting, but I'll get to it I promise!

I realize that not everyone will think there is a connection to these cases. That's fine! That just means this thread isn't really the place for you. :)

I copied over a couple of posts from Adrienne's thread. Can't say I'm on board with a SK theory, but the information might be helpful.

Video about Willie Jigba below:

I think we should begin with addressing each individual victim and if the circumstances seem to be foul play or accidental (or even undetermined).

I have provided a link for a video on the first drowning victim, Willie Jigba.

Skeptical, I rarely head over to the eastside of town. But Tempe is one of the biggest college party towns in the country. Multiple bars on every corner, college kids out of control, with a healthy healty mix of young homeless kids as well, who buy and sell drugs that are easily available. You put a lake in the area, its an extremely bad mix.I want to see more evidenc that someone is murdering a bunch of kids that could be on any sort of substance, near a lake. When you consider the amount of people that the area is congested with, I'm honest surprised it doesn't happen more.

Temepe is basically Arizona State University. When someone says Temepe most here think ASU, it has one of the largest amounts of students in the country, and the school is know for drugs, alcohol, girls, good weather, and its extremely easy to get into to. That is why I'm skepetical. Its a bad idea to have a lake in an enviroment like that.

Thank you for your interest in this thread. I went to ASU so I'm very versed on the politics of the town and the social dynamics. I think the fact it is a college town where kids are "irresponsible" would be the perfect place to commit homicidal drownings simply because the likelihood of the death being ruled accidental would be far more likely than being ruled foul play. To each his own. All IMHO.

That is true, and Im not saying that that theory is wrong. I am open to it, and a killer cabbi or good Samaritan is possible. It's just obviously the enviroment there promotoes poor behavior a lot of the time, by people who are clearly not in their right state of mind(I freely admit its a fun place to party). They are usually alone and found dead in the lake.

How do these disappearance compare to disappearances in the past. Has the rate increased that much? Is it a ridiculous abnormal amount? What is the evidence so far, outside of them being found in the lake? How does it rate with rates from other colleges around the country? I'm more curious about the case now. I live in west glendale, so Im not really a regular in the area to know the ins and outs. What makes the case so unique.

Hey there! I separated your considerations to properly identify each individually to address respectfully. :)

*How do these disappearance compare to disappearances in the past?*

Tempe town lake was constructed back in 2002 I believe. It is a relatively young lake! That being said, the lake was intended to be a sort of pedestrian friendly and SAFE public park. For this reason the bridges crossing over the lake are made to ensure pedestrians will not fall off.

I couldn't imagine these young men accidentally finding themselves in that lake unless they decided to deviate from the bridges and try to walk on the bike paths, which doesn't make much sense IMHO as the paths are perpendicular to the bridges and would not lead either Willie or Jack to their houses South of Scottsdale.

I can understand of the bridge was older and didn't have a security wall on the sides, but it seems to have all the current necessary safety requirements for pedestrians. The other drownings in the Tempe town lake are typically from people who fell off boats and didn't know how to swim.

*Has the rate increased that much?*

As far as the lake goes, when I lived near the lake around 2003-2004 I don't remember anyone having accidentally drown in it. These men seemed to start accidentally drowning after walking home from parties beginning in 2011.

*Is it a ridiculous abnormal amount?*

In comparison to how *these* types of accidental drownings involving college males at ASU didn't occur at all in the first 7 of the 10 years after the lake was built, it does seem to be remarkably strange that they start happening around 2011.

*What is the evidence so far, outside of them being found in the lake?*

Most of the young men were last seen leaving parties and bars, but in cases like Gerrick Begay (most recent found) it is even more mysterious, as we don't know where he was last seen before he drown. When Jack was kicked out of the Cadillac Ranch for using a fake he had only 1 $8 beer on his tab. Hardly seems to be enough to render him incapacitated IMHO.

All of the young men went to ASU (Willie had just taken a break after his first year when he was abducted). None of the men had a past of suicidal ideation or depression. I still have much to learn about their cases.

*How does it rate with rates from other colleges around the country?*

Tempe now has one of the highest crime rates in America, with a rate of 4 where 0 is not safe and 100 is safe.

And just FYI everyone, I do not believe the innocent cab company that had to deal with AS disappearance has anything to do with jack (or Adrienne for that matter). That cab company has been cleared by LE. Nuff said. Thank you :)

Ok, I am interested in this. Those some very valid points. Especially if the latest only had an $8 beer tab. Did they run a tox screen, could he of had something else in his system. I would be interesting to see the tox reports on these cases, to see if there is there were similarities. Let's assume this is a killer, how is he getting them to the lake, and drowning them without resistence and without anyone seeing anything?

I would assume, some sort of drugging would be involved. Was there any sort of physical evidence, bruising or possible signs of torcher? I wonder if they even looked at that stuff, or just assumed it was some drunk college student. It is interesting now.

I really wish, like yourself, I could also get those autopsy reports and tox screening results because drownings so often are difficult to differentiate between whether they are accidental or forced (foul play). It makes me also wonder about whether or not these drownings may be an initiation of sorts by a fraternity? The availability of date rape drugs on college campuses, especially among the lesser noble frats that are social and not directly ASU affiliated, makes me pause and reflect on these victims. Whether the victim was the member of the frat or a victim of a wrong party wrong time sacrificial "honor" murder further enhanced this theory that some have been touching on in rumor and online chatter.

when i went to asu (around same as you) there were good samaritans who would pick people up and drive them i remember getting a ride once.

I know exactly what you are talking about! One gave me a ride in a van (she was a female w daughter, very sweet) back to my apartment near southern and McClintock as I got stuck walking in the middle of the worst monsoon day that year.

Strange you bring that up...

Thanks and welcome!

There has been an unusual amount of people dissapearing, and or bodies being found. They just found another one in a mesa canel a couple days ago. These people ending up dead in and around the valley is starting to give me the creeps.

I'm not finding a thread specifically for ASU student Jack Culolias- 19. He went missing Nov 30, 2012 after leaving a club, and his body located nearby in the Salt River by private searchers on Dec 17, 2012. If I missed it, please reply with the link. Thank you! :)

I'm interested in Jack's case because his was a good example of even when authorities search the river (north of Tempe Marketplace) using underwater cameras and radar equipment and still find nothing. (Best explained by forensic literature of how bodies weighed down until gases cause the body to float to the surface).

OR -Matt Lang's body was found in water last Nov 2020 several weeks after his vehicle was located crashed and he was missing.

TX- Jason Lang is currently missing under similar circumstances -- his vehicle was found crashed and abandoned on Dec 13, 2020, and Jason still not located or recovered.
