I am not sure in this case if they are accusing Mom of actually abusing the child.
It sounds like they may have arrested her for failing to protect the baby from her boyfriend.
This is in Indiana... just like Baby Alissa in my signature. Let's hope for better Justice for Aubrie!

Nikita Dunn, 23, and her live-in boyfriend, 27-year-old Darrell Daniels, were located by IMPD detectives Saturday and each charged with neglect of a dependent causing death.

On the day before Aubrie was found dead by police, according to court documents, Dunn found a fresh mark on Aubries face after she returned home from buying food and marijuana for Daniels. Daniels told Dunn that Aubries 3-year-old sibling had hit her in the face with a hairbrush.

Dunn told police she checked on Aubrie several times overnight, and that she was still breathing about 6:30 a.m. on May 4. But police say that would be impossible, because she would have already been dead for hours.
