PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) Police are investigating after human remains were found at a downtown construction site that are believed to have been there for more than two decades.
Investigators are working toward determining the identity of the remains that were found outside of the Providence Community Health Center on Prairie Avenue on Wednesday.
According to Commander Thomas Oates, authorities are still trying to determine if the remains belong to a male or a female and they are hoping to find clothing that will provide clues.
At this point, police are still looking into the possibility that the body may have been there from a renovations project that took place in the 1970s and 1980s.
