The John Doe is very tall (6 feet 7 inches), so the list of possibles is pretty small.

I wonder if they ever looked at Marvin Thomas Graham

His age (44 at the time of the UID's death) is higher than the age estimate, his weight is a bit high, and there is a 3 1/2 year lag from his Date LKA (although his Date LKA appears to be just an estimate).

Everything else is good.

* He has brown eyes.
* His hometown of Bell CA is only 13 miles from the Vons Supermarket where this John Doe died.

He is not in NamUs, so he probably wouldn't be on their radar.

I am not sure if this is important, but the address on the corner of Hardwick St. and Lakewood Blvd is across [Lakewood Blvd] from Lakewood Mall. I wonder if the UID was familiar with the area because he was taking a bit of a risk because the sheriffs' substation is across Clark St on the other side of the mall, so if the authorities were notified, they would be there right away.

LA times article about the shooting. Sounds brutal. UP took his own life. They found the car that was used but it was stolen.
