Snipped... There is still one person out on the trail who is currently out of contact but police know spoke with Greene prior to his disappearance, Hornbeck said. They are hoping when that person returns he can provide some clue where Greene entered the back country.

I hope it is ok to post this. It's a link to a mountain-climbing site message boar where Matt is being discussed. It offers some insight from fellow climbers regarding the gear he would have had with him according to his friends as well as a few pics of the area....

That is crazy that it took them over two weeks to figure out he was missing. I was a bit confused as to why they originally thought he was in Yosemite as Yosemite is close to 100 miles away from Mammoth. Just read on the Facebook site listed above that SAR don't believe he had anything with him that would indicate he was planning on going hiking overnight. So sad. Hope he is found.Where is James Perryman? http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...james+perryman

UPDATE AUG. 6: Mammoth police seek help finding man missing since July 16; no new leads
http://www.mammothtimes.com/content/...no-new-leads-0No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

Matthew Greene, a popular math teacher at the school 65 miles north of Philadelphia, vanished while on a backpacking trip in California last month. Police say Greene was there to hike and climb the Eastern Sierra, a region that features extremely steep and rugged terrain, with many peaks soaring to 12,000 and 13,000 feet.
His disappearance has baffled friends and family who call Greene a highly experienced, cautious outdoorsman.
