EAST HAVEN — Two children, ages 1 and 13, and the pilot of a plane that crashed into two homes on Charter Oak Avenue remain unaccounted for Friday morning.

New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr., who was on scene, noted that no one had been recovered at the home, but offered his “deepest sympathy” to the families and the neighborhood about the apparent “awful” loss.

The FAA said the plane originated from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and crashed on approach into the Tweed-New Haven Airport at 11:25 a.m.

Governor Malloy said 2 bodies have been recovered. (Sorry I have no link yet. The news is streaming on WTNH) There may have been up to 3 people on the plane.

Yes, this is so sad. I can't imagine the moms anguish.

Unfortunately I don't see any happy ending in this one.

Pilot, Child Dead After East Haven Plane Crash: Sources
Sources at the scene tell NBC Connecticut that the pilot and a 1-year-old child are among the dead.

"That does not mean that's the limit. In fact, we're sharing a lot of information about how that number may in fact be higher, based on reports we're getting from other airports, as well as folks on the scene who are familiar with the house."
