On Wednesday morning August 21, 2013 at approx. 8:02am the Zion Police Department received a report of a missing five-month-old infant from 2311 Galilee apt #2. The caller indicated that unknown persons had abducted the missing infant. Responding officers found some evidence to believe that the circumstances surrounding this missing infant were suspicious. The Police department immediately reached out to all available resources to look for and investigate this incident, including the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, the Lake County Child Abduction Response Team, and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Mobile Field Force. At this point at approx. 125 Police Officers, Community Services, and Zion Emergency Services and Disaster Agency personnel are actively involved. We are currently conducting interviews and painstakingly searching the area. This is an isolated incident and we do not believe any other Zion residents are in danger.

Victim- Joshua Summeries 5 months old
This is not that far from where we live and I REALLY hope they find this adorable little guy safe and soon. I do not want to see another Bryeon Hunter case.
Updated from article above:
"A man sought in the case of a missing Zion boy was in custody Wednesday evening, hours after the search for him and 5-month-old Joshua Summeries began, officials confirmed.
There still was no information about Summeries, but a man described as his mother's boyfriend was found hiding in the woods on the north end of the far northern suburb after authorities handed out leaflets with his photo."
I was going to post before dinner and then had to wait and didn't see the update...I hope word on baby Joshua is released soon and he is safe...I don't like that they haven't said anything.
Dad's boyfriend is not FOB, correct? This will not end well......
Sources tell CBS 2 the mom told investigators a man had taken the baby out a window this morning. By about 1:45 this afternoon, she changed her story several times. She finally told investigators the baby was crying a lot last night. The boyfriend went to quiet the child. She hasn’t seen the baby since.

My Mom, who lives in Zion, said the Police had dogs out this afternoon in the neighborhood of the apartment building.
Please not another one! What on earth is going on with these babies these days? Seems like every other day I log in to see yet another Bryeon, Elaina, Levon...
Praying for this little one.
Every single time I check in there seems to be another defenceless child. And sadly, so many times, those who are supposed to protect them don't. I'm making a generalisation, not pointing fingers.
Sadly, I believe this poor baby is no longer with us. I hope he is found soon, and the person/s responsible prosecuted within the fullest extent of the law.
Heartsick tonight. Audrianna, Elaina, Alexis, Erika...so many, many more just on the first few threads. They need to come home, but I wish they had never gone in the first place.
Used to be when babies cried, you rocked them. If they cried more, you checked their diaper, fed them, burped them and rocked them some more. Today? they kill them ...

Law enforcement sources tell WGN bloodhounds from the Cook County Sheriff’s office picked up the scent of both the child and his mother’s boyfriend near their Zion home where there’s now a biohazard sticker on the door.

maybe she should've done her job as a mother properly and
#1. soothed her baby
#2. not allowed a boyfriend who is not the father of the baby in the house
#3. called 911 immediately if she thought someone possibly hurt her child
am I allowed to post #4? not sure if it's against TOS - of it is, I apologize - I am just SO angry at people like this who don't deserve to be parents

We don't know what's going on here <modsnip>. Sounds like the mother may be a victim here. A suspect has been arrested. Baby still missing.

According to a FOX 32 News source, 5-month old Joshua Summaries was crying in an apartment on the 2300 block of Galilee Avenue in Zion. The boyfriend of the boy's mother said he would go handle the crying infant.
The man stepped outside and when he returned, an argument ensued. A short time later, the woman left and called police saying her child had been abducted.

I wondered why an Amber Alert hadn't been issued and found this:
"An AMBER Alert was not issued because officials didn't have a vehicle description or license plate number, information necessary to engage an alert."
