How can they know so much about the abductor and so little about this little girl? I'm off to google and hope this isn't as bad as it sounds.

I'm guessing someone witnessed the abduction, got the license plate info and his name came from the registration info. I'm in a college in Fl and this alert just came over peoples phones. Nice to see an amber Alert in Action.
I assume this little girls family don't know she missing yet?

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says the child may be with 44-year-old Hernan Novellino.
    Just my opinion.

parental abduction, maybe? Hard to tell with such little info going on.
Whilst being on Websleuths makes me more aware of what evil there is in the world, it also reminds me that the best people are among us as well.

    Love you all!

I don't think I've ever seen a case like this actually solved, although several have been posted.

It sounds to me (and I guess everyone else) like someone witnessed what appeared to be a child abduction and called 911 with the abductor information.

In my observation, these cases don't usually get solved - except in this case they have an ID on the abductor and not just a vague description.

    Prayers she is safe.

I think if this were a non-custodial abduction, the amber alert would have a precise age and a name for the child.

I think a witness saw the man and got a good look at his plate. LE could find out who the car was licensed to and get his name, age, and race. That is probably why the news says that the girl *may* be with him.

If this is the case- way to go bystander! I am always trying to look at plates and see if I can memorize them as a way to practice if I ever see a need. I'm not good at it.
    Just my opinion.

    Here's more information.

I wonder if it was actually a doll?

    From that article

According to investigators, a person noticed the trunk of a gray 2013 Chevrolet Impala open and with what appeared to be a child inside in the area of Southwest 57th Avenue and 40th Street/Bird Road, police said.
I really hope this is just a misunderstanding.

    Hmm...
Wonder if he is a known RSO?
Maybe someone knew he wasn't supposed to be with a child?

A 4-6 year old doll? I know I've seen Barbie's that are bigger in size, but not one that would look life-like. Not enough to give a description of a Hispanic child with brown hair. I hope and pray you are right... but, this one is scaring me.

Good for the bystander for being so quick to get involved. Hope no matter what is going on, an innocent child is okay!
