I have sent emails to both the JCC Maccabi national organization and Detroit chapters.

Lightning fast response from the Detroit chapter: they are in contact with LE and helping as they can with identifying this man.

Thanks for posting. I was doing some prelim research on this one myself. The JCC Maccabi 2011 games were held in Springfield, MA. I looked thru their albums on their FB page but this UID looks so ordinary that he looks like all and none of the guys shown.

The Beantown Truth T is a Paul Pierce Celtics t-shirt. I'm guessing if he attended the 2011 games, he might have purchased it then (the games included a side trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield).

Also, I thought he must have been doing something illegal to be in the abandoned projects, but it turns out that the area is actually being scoped out for a future X Games location.

I am thinking the sweatshirt looks like this. I removed the faces as they are minor's. If admin is ok with it I will post the link and actual photo.

Some updates to Namus on this one. Looks like he's not the original owner of the JCC sweatshirt:

Investigation into the "JCC Maccabi Games" sweatshirt revealed that this was purchased at the Walled Lake, MI Salvation Army. The pants had similar price tagging on them, and are possibly from the same store.

Also more details on the rest of his clothes at link:

And some info on his boots, which were Essensole brand. I was thinking these were an odd choice, unless he also got them at a thrift shop.

They are apparently (only?) sold at Decathalon stores. It seems that Decathalon hasn't sold in the US since 2006, but its only four US stores were in Massachusetts (opening in 2003).

That, plus the Paul Pierce tank top have me wondering if he's from Mass, although he doesn't really fit any missing persons cases here, except possibly Charles Allen, Jr. ("Neo"), who has been missing since 2007:

It's also possible that it wasn't originally his hoodie. David Dennis has been missing from Detroit since January 2011 (before the Games). He is shorter than the UID, but he was only 16 when he disappeared, so he could have grown. I think he resembles the sketch, but he is biracial and I don't think an ME would have listed him as white. A long shot, but thought I'd post it:

Came here looking for matches on Zach McNair, but the UID is too short, wrong eye color, abdomen scar in wrong spot for typical appendectomy scar. Other identying marks.

David Dennis seems like a better match and you're right, he may have grown. Also I noticed the UID has a patch of pigmentation on the thigh. Looking at DD pictures, I can't help but notice those freckles on his face running over his eye lids and up to his mouth, reminds me of some pigmentation patterns where people might have crops of pigmented spots elsewhere on their body.

Did you submit DD as a potential match for rule out to Namus?

Thanks. No, I didn't. Was waiting for some feedback on him. If you agree, I may submit this week. He's listed as biracial, but I don't know that the UID would necessarily be viewed as such. I'm intrigued by the possible New England connection (with the shoes), but it's possible he got all his clothes at the thrift shop.

I would submit it, I think he has merit as a potential match. He seems very light skinned and post-mortem he may have been a little more pale, who knows. Also given the time that passed and his age, possible that he grew a little like you mentioned, and depending on how he was living his face might have thinned out a tad.

Believe DD was also last seen wearing a gray hoodie? Would be incredible if it was the same hoodie on the UID but that seems like a very long shot.

Bump.

There are now three ruleouts for this Doe. I never submitted David Dennis, so I'll do that ASAP.

Thanks FiveFelines, I had wondered about the status of the DD submission. Thanks for handling it.

I want to see if Kristopher Clarke can be submitted also
Scars are consistant, date missing:2/22/12, physical description as well. Not on the rule out list and KC has no DNA or Fingerprints available, either.

He's also got that "guy next door look" that everyone's been talking about. What do you guys think?

My only question with KC (aside from distance) is: wouldn't the metal pins in his leg have come up during autopsy? I still think he's worth submitting, though.

I don't..know..
I'd imagine it'd depend on what kind of time frame the ME was working on. I'm sure they're chock full of cases up there in Detroit. But probably not something they would have missed. Good Catch though. The ME's office isn't open till Monday so I'll give them a call then. Unless there's alternative e-mail or something. moo

According to KC's Charley page, he had pins in both legs and in his left wrist. KC also had long surgical scars on his legs that would have been mentioned in the UID's description (I would hope). So I don't think this is a match.
