BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police in Buffalo are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 13-year-old girl who hasn't been seen since Sunday.

Lanasha "Nay Nay" Rollerson was last seen on Poplar Street. The young teen is described as black, 5'9" and 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone who has information on her whereabouts should call police at 851-4416 or leave a confidential tip by calling 847-2255.

"BUFFALO, NY-- The search for a missing Buffalo teenager has come to a tragic end.

The family of 13-year-old Lanasha Rollerson, also known as "Nay-Nay," tell 2 On Your Side that her body was found by police just a few hours after police had asked the public for help in finding her.

The teen was last seen Sunday on Poplar Street in Buffalo.

Buffalo Police confirmed the body found was Rollerson. They say an autopsy contucted Wednesday ruled her death a homicide.......

"A 21-year-old Buffalo man was charged today with the slaying of 13-year-old Lanasha “Nay Nay” Rollerson.

Darshawn Morris of 160 Hagen St. is charged with second-degree murder. Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda said Morris confessed to the crime after being taken into custody at around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.........."

"Darshawn Morris was a menace and gang member who terrorized his Hagen Street neighborhood, according to residents there who knew him.

The fact that the 21-year-old Buffalo man is now also an accused killer, they said, is not surprising.

Morris was charged by Buffalo police late Wednesday with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing 13-year-old Lanasha “Nay Nay” Rollerson to death in his second-floor apartment at 160 Hagen.

Police said Lanasha attended a late-night party there Saturday that spilled into the wee hours of Sunday morning.

It was the last time the young teenager and aspiring model would be seen alive.

Details of the killing were still being sorted out, but police detectives determined that the party wrapped up about 2 a.m. Lanasha died as a result of multiple stab wounds during an attack sometime during the following two hours, according to Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda....."

39 years to life.

State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller imposed the maximum sentence on Darshawn Morris for the Sept. 1 murder of Lanasha, who was stabbed more than 60 times and beaten following a party at his East Side apartment.

The judge told the 21-year-old defendant the sentence was designed to “ensure the protection of the public by having you spend the rest of your natural life behind bars.”

In addition to the maximum 25-year-to-life prison term for second-degree murder, the judge sentenced Morris to an additional seven years for second-degree rape and seven more years for second-degree criminal sexual act.

He ordered the sentences to run consecutively.

The crime was so insidious. I'm appalled by his sentence, too. The judge seems to think this sentence will keep DM in prison for the rest of his life. Truth in sentencing, please.

Happy to know this animal is off the streets for a long time.
