VA - Lisa Madaris, 35, found raped, beaten to death, Stafford County
Stafford County detectives are likely looking into the personal life of Lisa Madaris in hopes of finding clues that will lead them to the 35-year-old Woodbridge woman's murderer, a criminal expert said Wednesday.
Madaris' body was found Sunday morning in a field near Telegraph Road off Jefferson Davis Highway roughly two miles from the Prince William County border.
Madaris was last seen Wednesday night at 9 p.m. leaving Brittany's Sports Bar and Restaurant in Lake Ridge in her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier.
The next morning her car was found burned in the Port Aquia subdivision in Stafford County. Police were unsuccessful in their attempts to contact her. A man walking his dog found her body Sunday morning.

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

From April 2005:
John J. Rogers, who went by the name Jose, was arrested Thursday night at his home and was being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. An autopsy showed that Lisa Renee Madaris, 35, of Woodbridge died from blunt trauma to the head...
Witnesses said that she was with Rogers the night of April 6 and that they had had a rocky, sometimes violent, relationship for the past year and a half. The two left the bar about 11:30 p.m. and "more than one witness" saw them arguing in the parking lot, county spokeswoman Cathy Riddle said. He was heard threatening her life and physically assaulting her, she said.
Sheriff's officials said Rogers then forced her into the back seat of her car and drove her away, leaving his vehicle behind. Sheriff Charles E. Jett said at a news conference yesterday that Rogers had been riding a motorcycle.
