While researching Jackson Miller's case, I came across this guy who didn't seem to have his own thread. I hope Shawn is out there somewhere safe!

The family of Jackson Miller, a 23-year-old Cupertino resident who went missing on May 15, 2010, will join the families of four other young men who went missing for a joint awareness vigil on Sept. 14 in San Francisco.

The purpose of the vigil is to raise awareness for the search of the five young men: Miller; Sean Sidi, 19, missing since May 21, 2013; Crishtian Hughes, 20, Feb. 6, 2013; Shawn Dickerson, 24, Dec. 2, 2011; Cameron Remmer, 31, Oct. 6, 2011.

The families will share their personal experiences at the vigil and raise questions about case and what's being done.

The vigil will take place at 2 p.m. at the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park, near the California Academy of Sciences.
 
Thanks so much for this thread! I've been following his case for almost a year now.

I do think his disappearance has to do with mental health issues and I just hope he didn't harm himself. Those pictures he took on the day he disappeared, maybe it was his way of saying goodbye...

There sure seem to be a lot of missing young men in the San Francisco area...
 
I don't think though that all of the disappearances- if any at all- could be connected. Like a serial killer or something like that. I'm familiar with all of these cases and I'm pretty sure Jackson Miller, Cameron Remmer and Shawn Dickerson left voluntarily due to their mental health problems (Jackson and Cameron had been diagnosed and to me it sounds like Shawn could have had some problems as well, one article mentions he used to say he had Asperger's and his loved ones suspected that as well, also intense highs and severe lows regarding his mood).

I read that article from January 2012 again, and one thing that always strucks me about it is the fact that Shawn took these photos and posted them on his FB the day he disappeared. I think he definitely planned to leave. Maybe forever, maybe just for a while. Maybe suicide.

Oh, and sure, just because someone left voluntarily doesn't mean he couldn't have met a serial killer and got hurt. I just don't believe it in these 3 cases I mentioned in my post above. Just to clarify.
 
Despite active pursuits on social media for many years now, the families of five young men who went missing in the San Francisco, California area over the past several years still have few answers. Jackson Miller, missing May 15, 2010, Cameron Remmer, missing October 6, 2011, Shawn Dickerson, missing December 2, 2011, Crishtian Hughes, missing February 7, 2013, and Sean Sidi, missing May 21, 2013, all vanished from various areas of San Francisco without a trace. Leads and searches have unearthed virtually no clues in any of their cases, but members of every family have banded together to help in the search efforts and cope with their shared grief.
