"BRIGHTON, Ont. – Suspected human remains found in Presqu’ile Provincial Park, just south of Brighton in eastern Ontario, have been identified as a human foot.

Park staff found the foot, inside a women’s running shoe, on the north shore of Gull Island in Lake Ontario.

Provincial police were called in to investigate on Wednesday and confirmed the remains as human on Friday.

The shoe is described as a size 11, high-end Mizuno brand shoe for the left foot, and is grey, black and pink in colour"

" BRIGHTON -- Police continue to investigate after a women’s foot was found on Gull Island, in Presqu’ile Provincial Park.

The foot -- inside a size 11 women’s running shoe -- was found on the north shore of the island around 2:14 p.m on Sept. 11. Park staff were on the island and found the foot in the water near the shore, according to the OP"

Size 11? Wow. An unusual brand and a large size.

Gull Island is an extremely small, bird infested island that can be accessed from the public beach at Presqu'ile Provincial Park. The cormorants and seagulls cover the island, you can't stand the sound, there are thousands and thousands of birds.

The water surrounding the island is extremely shallow, and campers kayak out there to see the birds all the time.

Did someone dump a body for the birds to take care of?

Lake Ontario totally surrounds this island.

How and why in the bejeezus are there so many feet inside shoes turning up, come on, this is crazy?

It's totally on the other side of the country from BC, and there may be different things going on, but, wth IS going on???

Of course, there are all those feet that have found in running shoes in BC. Is something else going on here, wth? Here is an interactive map, for those who haven't heard of it.

It shoes the pictures of the style of shoe, the date and location of the discovery.

This foot found was also size 11:

Juan de Fuca: Aug. 1, 2008

What appears to be a human right foot was discovered in a men's size 11 athletic shoe, said Clallam County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin.

Det.-Sgt. Lyman Moores told the Seattle Times tests should determine whether the foot is human by the end of the week.

The shoe is black, low-cut and possibly used for hiking. It was found on a beach about 50 km west of Port Angeles on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, said Peregrin

Based on a description of the newly found shoe, RCMP Sgt. Tim Shields said it does not fit with any of those found on the five feet that have washed up on B.C.'s coastline.

This foot that was found was size 11 too!

A man’s left foot discovered in a size 11 Nike running shoe belonged to a 21-year-old Surrey, B.C., resident who had gone missing four years earlier, according to the B.C. Coroners Service.

It was spotted floating in the water around 10:30 a.m. by a couple out for a walk on the 2800 block of Savage Road in Ladner, said police. It matches the foot and shoe found on Valdes Island.

It's possible that the foot washed ashore from Lake Ontario.

The winds are predominately westerly in that section of the Lake, but, they certainly do come in from the south, rarely from the east or north.

It's also possible that the deceased was murdered and dumped there. Like I said, people will not walk onto that Gull Island from the populated beach area, because of the sound, the vast quantity of birds and the general uncleanliness of bird droppings and dead fish/bird carcasses etc.

There are a few versions of pink Mizuno shoes that are grey, black and pink. Since they say grey first, I am going to guess it is the first picture, but, could be the second, or another one entirely. Hopefully, they will release a picture.

I am going to search the NAMUS database. Are there any missing women with a size 11 foot? That is really quite large, isn't it? I guess I will search size 10 also.

Rochester, NY is directly south of this recovery location at Gull Island.

This foot could belong to an American woman, very easily. It can take less than 2 hours in a boat to get across the Lake. A very real possibility here.

Thousands and thousands of people travel to Presqui'le Provincial Park every summer to camp.

Here is a map showing the campsite locations, and their proximity to the beach and Gull Island.

Wonder what the sizes of all the other feet are? The last foot found was 2011 CMIIW based on the location map http://www.cbc.ca/bc/features/found-feet/

Out of all, only one has been ID'ed? Wonder if this is work of a serial killer, or a nut case who's taking feet from cadavers?

Foot size can be deceptive. I'm almost 5' 10" (weigh about 175+/- lbs) and wear a 10, 10.5 or 11 women's shoe depending on the brand. My hiking shoes are usually 11, dress shoes can sometimes be a 10. Makes sense for my height. However, my youngest sister is maybe 5' 5" and wears a size 10. We are (sigh) a big feet family. Another relative (on husband's side) is 10 years old and is already wearing a size 11. She's not as tall as I am yet but there are tall people in her family.

Has someone moved East from BC?

Has someone been posted from CFB Esquimalt to CFB Trenton?

Just throwing it out there.

The odds are most likely that the deceased is an American. I state this based on what I know of Lake Ontario in this region.

I haven't heard of Mizuno. Looks like it is possibly targets a Japanese demographic.

Mizuno are an excellent running shoe and are some at popular retailer "The Running Room". They are high end and sell for about $150ish per pair. They are the ONLY running shoes that I wear. (and I am not Japanese ;) LOL)

Also, they do fit true to size. It would be a true 11 not a small fit.
