GA - Mom, BF charged in beating death of Kaylee Johnson, 18 mos, Oct 2012
Jamie Beck, 23, and Michael Naples, 31, are charged with felony murder and first-degree child cruelty.
Last October, Cherokee County Sheriff responded to an injured child call. The toddler's mother told deputies she awoke in the middle of the night to get some water and found the basement door open and little Kaylee lying at the bottom of the stairs. The child was hospitalized & died a few days later.
The GBI Crime Lab has determined that Kaylee’s death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head, making it a homicide. The injuries were not indicative of a child falling down stairs.

More disgusting details: Naples had background of abuse. Another in the seemingly endless WS cases of young women having babies by losers who don't respect them or the child enough to marry them, then hopping from that loser to another & then another. As believe09 said, this is all too familiar.

A 24-year-old mother charged in the murder of her daughter has pleaded her case down, following a negotiation deal with the District Attorney’s Office. Jamie Beck has pleaded guilty to accusations that she committed cruelty to children in the second degree and made false statements to police on the night of her child’s death...
Beck’s former boyfriend, Michael Naples, of Woodstock, also was charged with murder and his case remains ongoing and has been continued from the November jury trial calendar...
Superior Court Judge Ellen McElyea sentenced Beck to 15 years with five to serve in confinement.
