This appears to have been a seniors ministry.

This happened about 20 minutes down the road from me. In fact, my husband and I just traveled this section of I-40 on Saturday on our way celebrate our 5th anniversary in Gatlinburg. So very sad. My heartfelt prayers go out to all of those involved in this tragic accident.

I wonder if they know that their audio feed is live on WBIR's live stream, or was. Still waiting for the presser to start.

Apparently the presser on WBIR has been moved back to 6:45.

14 taken to UT Med:
8 critical
2 serious
4 stable

At least 8 dead on the scene...possibly driver...families have not yet been notified

Believe it was a blow-out on the bus, but will be looking into the bus DOT inspection history, driver's history, the bus braking system, possible other mechanical failures

I-40 traffic being re-routed for at least 2-3 hours and maybe even all night

(The raw footage on the WBIR site is horrendous)
Bus crossed through median barrier, hit SUV, 18-wheeler hit bus

IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO SUSPECT THEY HAVE A LOVED ONE INVOLVED IN THIS ACCIDENT CAN CALL:

Incredibly sad. My thoughts are with all those involved in the accident, as well as their friends and loved ones. Such a tragedy, for all involved. :rose:
