A man accused of sexually molesting three girls with their mother's permission is representing himself in court, allowing him to question the girls while on the stand.

Ethan Hess, a former radio newsman, is accused of having sex with the girls when they were 8 years old to 12 years old and taking photos of two of them when they were nude. They are now 13, 15, and 17.

OMG thats terrible... like that nutball that shot up the train and represented himself... it was horrible for the victims that had to testify

I read a looonnngggg article in the local paper about this case-VERY weird!!!!!!

At one time the mother, the father and the 5 or 6 kids all lived with this creep in his ONE bedroom house!!!

The Mother also had some kind of relationship with the Pedo but apparently the Father saw nothing/heard nothing/knew nothing while the younger children (those not being molested) saw all manner of things!!!
This scum abused three of the girls at the same time-EEEWWWWWWWW.

There are also rumors of other victims poss. coming forward,

For this loser to be allowed to represent himself is a travesty *BUT* at least it'll just help his conviction along!
What is that saying about those represenmt themselves?..........

Sheesh What kind of monster does not protect her children? I mean really where DO these women come from? She deserves LWOP.

And what the *#&%^$ is the mother doing out on unsecured bail. Throw her in a cell with a bunch of other prisoners and let them know what she did!

This is just an awful case, and so difficult to understand a mother allowing this abuse to her children. Most of us would fight anyone who attempted to approach our children in any inappropriate way!

Representing himself probably will affect the jury in a negative way, and some news reports reflect this already as jurors appear to reflect disgust on their faces during Hess' cross-examination. As difficult as it has been for the victims, Hess may suffer more consequences from the jury as a result of his self-representation.

Jury Reaches Verdict in Hess Trial
By Eyewitness News
(04/26/05 - FAYETTEVILLE) — Jurors delivered a quick verdict Tuesday in the trial of a former radio personality accused of raping and sexually assaulting three girls.

It took the jury about an hour to findd Ethan Hess guilty on two counts of statuatory rape, three counts of statuatory sexual offense and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. A judge sentenced him to 105 years in prison.

Hess originally faced 245 counts of sexually abusing the girls, but the charges were whittled down to nine by the time jurors got the case. The reduction came after the girls could not give dates for the other alleged offenses. --->>
