HOUSTON (AP) — Federal officials on Monday remained silent on why they raided homes in Texas and Michigan this weekend that property records indicate are owned in part by a Houston art appraiser.......

So far its been hard to find articles other than the Associated Press one but here is one with a tidbit or two:

"Neighborhood rumors are flying, to say the very least."

"That apparently all got started with DHL reporting some unusual random deliveries to the house," Southampton resident Travis Broesche tells KHOU Ch. 11."

"One neighbor reports hearing agents mention the word "bomb," while another says she was told by an FBI agent that the team was investigating an online threat against the government. A source tells the Houston Chronicle that unusual chemical purchases promoted the searches. Several area residents — as well as Horton's partner at M.K.G. Melissa Grobmyer — claim the the search involves Horton and Schneck's college-aged son."

Another resident, Travis Broesche, who said he's lived in the neighborhood for about 25 years, said he and other neighbors believe the area and the house have been under surveillance for some time. Yikes!
The law enforcement source, who asked not to be identified, said the chemicals were not the type used in the manufacture of a traditional explosive.

The intent was "to make some sort of gas ... like tear gas or nerve gas," the source said.
 
I want to know more about that big cat posted. He is beautiful. I got distracted. Yeah I am with the neighbor it is crazy.
 
I think 5419 Blossom is the address in Houston.
 
hold up - there was TWO addresses searched in Michigan (look at photo 2 from link in above post)

the second address is 5035 Sugarbush Lane in Leland, Mich.

so THREE houses searched?! (2 in Michigan and 1 in Houston) if I'm correct
 
plus they detonated a substance at 411 Fall River Road in the Memorial area so .... um FOUR houses?!
 
wonder who owns the other homes - father of the college-age son perhaps?
 
I am unfamiliar with Houston and the surrounding area, so I really don't know where all the addresses are but this article talks about the Woodland Court Condos on Villa Maria Road in Bryan, Texas at least one of which seems to be connected to Horton and Schneck.

And also this was interesting: "When reached on his cellphone Friday afternoon, Andrew Edward Schneck, who is listed as a doctorate student in urban and regional sciences in the Texas A&M directory, said he was driving across parts of the country and had been advised to be discreet, so the "short answer is no, I don't know [what's going on]." He declined to elaborate before hanging up."

Search warrants executed by FBI
The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that it is currently executing the second of two Federal search warrants in Leelanau County. The FBI is being assisted by the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office and up to 60 Federal agents are participating in the investigation here.

Two Federal sealed search warrants were obtained by the FBI recently in U.S. District Court in the Western District of Michigan. No details of the investigation are allowed to be released due to the sealing of the warrants by a Federal magistrate. That means that all details of the investigation and facts stated in the warrant may not be released until an indictment is issued, if ever.......

LCSO awaiting further information from FBI
The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office does not have any updated information to release regarding the searches conducted last week in Leland Township and Suttons Bay. Information will be released as the FBI provides and approves the dissemination of it. (Links to Fox article)

Leelanau County records show the home in Leland, Mich., and the one in Suttons Bay are owned by the Cecilia Earhart Horton Trust. Records list the mailing addresses for the Michigan houses as Horton's homes in Houston.
