Conway police were searching for a 14-year-old girl who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said Abigail Hernandez was last seen leaving Kennet High School on foot around 2:30 p.m.

Based on a K-9 track, police think she did arrive at her home on Village Way in North Conway, but she wasn't there by the time her mother got home.

Hernandez was described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 118 pounds, with brown hair and eyes and an olive complexion. She was last seen wearing black yoga pants and a grey sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is urged to call Conway police at 603-356-5715.

Police deployed search dogs at her last known location at Kennett High School. The dogs followed her scent back to Abigail's home at 86 Village Way, leading police to believe that she returned there before she disappeared.

Police searched the home and surrounding area, interviewed witnesses, ran phone traces and submitted Abigail's name as a missing person to the National Crime Information Center.

I must say, the police are right on top of this, which is pretty surprising for a missing teenager.

"She was last seen wearing black yoga pants and a gray sweatshirt."

"Police have interviewed witnesses, searched Hernandez's home and surrounding area, conducted phone traces and submitted her name to the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.
Perley said there is no evidence at this point of an abduction, though police are not ruling that out as a possibility. "

I am bad at math, hoping this is less than 10%

not to get into a discussion about the dogs (there are many discussions elsewhere on WS about how these dogs are trained and what they can and can not do) but (lol) if she walked the same way everyday - to and from school and had presumably walked that route that very morning TO school - couldn't the dogs have picked up her scent from it being an established route and used often by her?

Regardless, she is missing, and may have made it home after school before going missing. need more info.

I thought the same, AzPistonsGirl! Maybe she was wearing a certain perfume or something? I don't wear the same scent every day, that might help narrow it down.

I am pleased to see that the authorities are right on top of this.

It seems at this time 'missing' has a meaning that is substantial and activity of investigation is warranted.

FBI and other agencies are involved and I hope they are considering a victim profile as well as relentless search.

moo with all due respect to LE, Abigail and her family.
Bring em home...

Looking at maps of the Conway area where it is reported that searches will be underway today.

Pudding pond is a main concern--to rule out, I hope.

It runs along the power lines where I believe is an area of interest.

I hope she is well and will return.

Police have also had this property blocked off by crime tape, while investigators with the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit worked inside.

The North Conway police chief spoke briefly Thursday night.

Investigators say based on the K-9 track they believe she "successfully arrived at her home on Village Way prior to her disappearance."

Abigail is described as a 14-year-old Hispanic female, 5'4", 118 pounds, last seen wearing black yoga or stretch pants and a grey sweatshirt.

Investigators say her cell phone and computer activity have been silent.

In the video in the above link, the attorney general is there at the press conference. I recognize her from Celina's case. Not a good sign. :(

I hope they find her too, can not find pudding pond in my Delorme NH book.

I've been searching this morning for news about Abigail but haven't found anything new. Where did you see that there will be searches today?
