AZ - Teen mom accused of throwing baby out a window
Authorities suspect the teen gave birth to a child in the bathroom of her family's east Mesa home on Sunday.
Paramedics responded to the home after her family reported that the teen was bleeding heavily. Deputies say it appears the baby fell about 5 feet after being thrown out the bathroom window and hit her head on a brick......
Authorities say the child is expected to survive and remains in the custody of state Child Protective Services.

Samantha Perez was 16 when she labored in secret in her parents’ bathroom in east Mesa. And she was not yet 18 by Tuesday morning, when she was sentenced to five years in prison and a lifetime of probation.
Perez was charged as an adult following the October 2013 incident and ultimately pleaded guilty to attempted murder and child abuse...
In a brief interview after the hearing, Kovacs noted that the child is now thriving and suffered no permanent injuries.
Paramedics... took the infant to a hospital, where she was treated for a skull fracture and poor prenatal care.

The parents of a teenager — who recently was sentenced to five years in prison after authorities said she tried to hide her pregnancy by throwing her newborn out of a window — said today they’ve been denied custody of their granddaughter because they’re undocumented.
Samantha Perez was 15 years old when she was raped by an adult family friend, something that wasn’t brought up during court proceedings, and became pregnant...
The grandparents said the Arizona Department of Child Safety deemed them unfit to be guardians of the child because they’re undocumented...
[Perez] lost her parental rights and won’t be allowed to contact her daughter once she’s released. She also faces the threat of deportation because, like her parents, she is undocumented...
