Missing girl investigation continues near Windsor's riverfront

Police continued searching the water Wednesday, near where the bike was found.

Strehlau is described as white, with long blonde hair and a thin build. She was last seen wearing a navy sweater and dark jeans.

A commenter under this local article posted an hour ago that police were searching at the foot of Langlois Ave.

There seems to be very little information about this girl and her case.

I hope she is found soon!!

Monday was Canadian thanksgiving, so many people from the University would have gone home for the long weekend.

Monday evening was fairly nice, weather-wise. It got dark around 7:00 pm, around the last time Victoria was seen on her bike. I wonder how much traffic (foot, bicycle or car) there would have been down by the riverfront during the evening. Surely someone would have seen her there? Is there lighting at the park in the specific area?

I also wonder if VS is from Windsor or just moved there as a student. Does she live with her family? Other students?

I think she may originate from Poland. And it seems she's a model

I don't think she is new to Windsor - the website shows a photo shoot from 2011 talking about Windsor.

If she is 18 that would make her closer to 16 at the time and too young for University. Does she have family?

Why is no one screaming for this child?

Normally, there are people walking dogs, etc along the river at that time of night. There is a nice walking path. It is lit in most/many areas.

I am concerned about the bike being found near the river. IME it is unusual for police to issue an alert about an 18 year old without some indication (more so than not coming home) that there was reason to worry. She was last seen at 7 pm Monday and I saw it on FB Tuesday afternoon. I am wondering if they have reason to believe she might self harm?

I snooped around the net and found she is the subject of photos on Flickr, as well as some with titles depicting suicide. Just viewing the pictures makes me fearful of this story's outcome.
I have been wondering too why there isn't a lot more on this girl? It seems the whole community should be alarmed that a pretty, young, and talented girl has gone missing. No mention of how this in investigation is going with the local authorities?
The Walkerville area of Windsor is a good area of Windsor, where the affluent Windsorites live. Maybe the family because of their status is asking things be kept hushed. I don't know.
The police were seen searching the water with boats. I'm afraid of which way this investigation is going. Sadly this is very nearby for me.

Additional searching says she attended Walkerville which is a high school here. That would make her local, although her web site says she is from Poland. So I am unsure if she had immigrated as a youth or if she was born here.

My granddaughter also has stated on a website that she is from Spain, although she was born & raised here locally. My granddaughter said she put that on part as a joke, and part to protect herself from identity theft. So I guess the question of Victoria's place of birth will be a mystery for now.
