Two-bedroom flat where serial killer Dennis Nilsen killed male escorts and threw their remains down the drains goes on the market for half a million

The north London flat where serial killer Dennis Nilsen slaughtered rent boys and cooked their remains has gone on the market for around £500,000.

The flat in Muswell Hill, north London, was where Nilsen murdered a handful of male escorts before cooking their body parts and eating them.

The two-bedroom home seems unremarkable, but it was the subject of a massive police investigation after reports of a strange smell coming from the drains.

“Serial killer and necrophiliac Dennis Nilsen, known as the notorious Muslwell Hill Murderer, has died in prison aged 72, the Ministry of Justice has said.

He murdered at least 12 people between 1978 and 1983.

The Scotsman was convicted of six murders and two attempted murders in 1983, and was jailed for life in November 1983.

He lured his victims to two homes in North London, where they were strangled.

Former civil servant Nilsen burned their bodies, or flushed body parts down the toilet in his sickening series of killings.

What a monster this individual was. They are going to have difficulty cremating or burying him as nobody will take him.

They will rest in peace they know who killed them. I am glad he died. May he rot in xxxx! He deserved what he got. How did he die?

As British monsters go, though, Dennis would probably rank tops to converse with. Memo30's list above -- I really would not like to share conversational space with any of those, but Nilsen might be the "best."

I shall be having recorded interviews with two people that knew Dennis Nilsen well, over the next few days. Are there any questions any forum members on here would like me to ask them. One is a prison officer, who was in charge of Nilsen's wing at HMP Full Sutton, and the other is the guy that lived with Nilsen on & off, for five years. We are in the process of making a show for ITV in the UK, which no doubt will take a few months to put together, and will include extracts from Nilsen's diary's, never seen before, which I can safely say are quite shocking in places. So if anyone on here has something to ask of these guys, then please get back to me. I would like to point out that any profit made from this production will be going to a charity here in the UK that searches for many missing people every day of the year, The Salvation Army.

I wouldn't put Mary Bell on a par with the likes of Robert Black and the Wests. She seems to have been completely rehabilitated and has been out of prison and living anonymously in the community for almost 40 years. She has a daughter born in 1984 who may by now be a mother herself and AFAIK Bell has not been involved in any more lawbreaking that has been reported.

By all accounts, Robert Thompson has also been effectively rehabilitated although, as is well known, John Venables has not and has been returned to prison on several occasions since his original release.
