Desperate hunt for GP mother-of-two after she went missing while suffering from post-natal depression. (Daily Mail)
---
Mother-of-two Elizabeth Kinston, 37, from Beeston in Nottingham, is currently on maternity leave from her job as a GP and was last seen on Friday morning, a day before her car was found in a Nottingham car park with her phone and purse inside.
---
Police said she had been suffering from post-natal depression since the infant was born.

Mrs Kinston was last seen on CCTV near Nottingham Station at 11.41am on Friday.

She had left her home in Beeston at some point after 10am that day and her Audi was seen at a petrol station on the A52 and then at the Broadmarsh car park in Nottingham city centre.

The car was found at the car park the following day, with Mrs Kinston's phone and purse inside, but there has been no confirmed sightings of her since she was seen on Carrington Road, which leads to the railway station, on Friday morning.

Missing Beeston Woman: Husband's Plea for Elizabeth Kinston to Make Contact

(This article has a more detailed description of what Elizabeth Kinston was wearing at the time of her disappearance.)

http://www.nottinghampost.com/Missi...ea-Elizabeth/story-20039873-detail/story.html

Elizabeth is white, around 5ft 7ins tall and of a medium build. She has blonde, shoulder-length hair, which was tied back in a ponytail.

She was wearing a thigh-length, dark green quilted coat with a fur hood, a light pink jumper, blue jeans and dark brown knee-high riding-style boots and was carrying a red and black back-pack and a dark woollen hat with a peak.

Hoping she just wanted to go off-the-grid temporarily.

Having one of those "no news whatsoever in the last four days" things with this one.

Police search canal in hunt for missing GP Elizabeth Kinston. (Nottingham Post)
Police divers have been carrying out searches of a Nottingham canal in connection with the hunt for a missing GP.

Dr Elizabeth Kinston was last seen leaving her home in Beeston nearly two weeks ago.

Detective believe she may have got as far as the Castle Marina Retail Park before going missing.

As part of their investigation, Notts Police have been searching the waters of the Nottingham-Beeston Canal near Castle Marina today.

Two police vans, an underwater and specialist search unit and a dinghy were seen parked up in the car park of the Waters Edge pub at Castle Marina.

the rest at the link, long article summarizes the case thus far

Her husband and sister were appearing on This Morning (TV show) today but I didn't see it because I'm at work.

Unfortunately I feel very strongly that this won't have a happy ending and it's just a matter of finding her body.

I lived in Nottingham for 3 years. This struck me- 'before parking in the Broad Marsh car park in the city centre at 11.33am.'

I can't think why you'd park at Broad Marsh unless you were a) going shopping or b) taking the 10 second walk to the train station. So, my guess is she got the train. But where to?

Apparently before this she visited a petrol station. To buy what? I'm guessing not petrol so...medicines? Alcohol?

'We know she has old friends in Birmingham and trains indeed departed for Birmingham that day' - to me this is pretty insignificant. Notts - Birmingham are both major destinations and trains run between the two multiple times a day, if not multiple times an hour.

'Detective believe she may have got as far as the Castle Marina Retail Park before going missing' - about a 5 minute drive from BM car park and train station. The canal there isn't as prominent as it perhaps sounds - the title 'marina' is certainly an overstatement!

I know none of that is particularly helpful, but may make sense of that article a little more.

All IMO JMO

Prayers that Elizabeth is reunited with her family very soon.

From Nottinghamshire Police, Gemma Berry, Media Relations Officer (and thanks Robin Hood!):

BODY BELIEVED TO BE MISSING GP
The body of a woman found in Nottingham is believed to be that of missing doctor Elizabeth Kinston.

The discovery was made at 12.25pm yesterday (Thursday 14 November 2013), on grassland near Enterprise Way in Dunkirk, by police officers searching for the missing mother-of-two.

A post-mortem examination took place this morning (Friday 15 November 2013). While the full results are expected to take several weeks, the death at this stage is not being treated as suspicious.

Detective Inspector Kev Broadhead said: “Formal identification has yet to be confirmed, but at this stage we do believe we have found Elizabeth. It’s a tragic conclusion to the inquiry and one we were all desperately hoping we would not have to face.

“On behalf of the Force and of Elizabeth’s family I would like to thank the hundreds, if not thousands of people, who helped in the search for Elizabeth, whether by sharing appeals on social media, distributing posters or getting out on the streets to search.

“It’s been an unprecedented response and something I know her family would like to give heartfelt thanks for. It has given them incredible strength through these difficult days.”

“We ask that you now allow them to digest this most distressing news. David’s priority will be his two little girls and getting them through this. We are supporting them during this difficult time.”

Elizabeth, 37, went missing from her Beeston home on Friday 1 November 2013. The appeal for her whereabouts was publicised by local and national media and shared hundreds of times on social networks.

They've just said on the main evening news bulletin that it is Elizabeth but not found online confirmation yet. Extremely sad... thoughts with her family.

Terribly sad news. My thoughts go to her family.

It's so sad, that she as a doctor, didn't get the right treatment. I feel bad for her family and they have a hard road ahead to deal with this.

First,

I am very saddened to hear that this didn't turn out with a happy ending. I am incredibly sad for the family involved.

If I am honest, I am still not completely sure this was a suicide. Why? Because it has not yet been ruled a suicide by the coroner. When and if they come to that conclusion, I will have no further questions.

In the meantime, I wonder when we will hear more about this. I must say the way she has disappeared and where she was found is unusual. It's not completely unusual for someone to commit suicide outside of the home, though it is not the higher percentage. Some studies I have since read tell me that about 77% of suicides (in America-I could not find any UK studies on this) happen in the home.

Am I alone in my thoughts?

Hope to hear more soon.

Cheers,

Am I alone in my thoughts?

One person - very perceptive - who read the case early on sensed that something might be amiss.

Most others, though, seemed to accept the post-natal depression/inevitably a suicide scenario.

It does make me wonder.

The police have said they are not treating her death as suspicious. The test results will take a few weeks to come back. I reckon she took an overdose.
It reminds me of another mother with post natal depression who went missing earlier this year. She said she was going to the shops for a pint of milk but instead went to a field and killed herself.
