Identified! ME - Manchester, Skeletal Remains, off Puddledock Road, Nov'13 Paul Tolbert

Skeletal remains were discovered by hunters just off the Puddledock Road in Manchester Saturday morning.

Deputies determined that the remains were those of an adult and that they had been at the location for some time.

Anyone with information on persons that may have been missing in that area are asked to call the Kennebec County Sheriff's office at 207 623-3591

Maj. Ryan Reardon, of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, said the remains appeared to have been there quite a while and had degraded significantly. He said there was some clothing around the remains.

In a press release Sunday night, state police spokesman Steve McCausland said the remains were “tentatively identified” after a Virginia driver’s license was found with the body.

Police say there was no sign of foul play and the remains appear to have been at the scene about 200 yards off a local road for more than a year.

State police identified the man on Monday as 33-year-old Paul Tolbert of Radford after his parents were contacted. DNA will be used to confirm the identification.
