I heard this on our local news last night but couldn't find a thread on him.

From the article:
"Dominguez, called "Emmy" by his family, was last seen during the early morning hours of November 2. Investigators say he went to a party at a warehouse near Damen and Walnut in the West Town neighborhood. That's where he ran into an ex-girlfriend and left with her headed for Bucktown."

His phone last pinged at Division & Halsted.

Wonder why he got out? Did they fight and she made him leave the car or he wanted out, maybe thinking he could walk back to his car or get someone to get him? If he tried to walk back to his car this doesn't look good. Wondering why the ex didn't come forward or talk to anyone sooner. Maybe if they argued she just figured he wasn't going to answer her calls/texts.

Obviously all speculation. Hoping he's found safe but I'm uneasy.

A frantic search is on for a missing Summit man, who has last seen at a Halloween party in Chicago.

Nobody has seen 30-year-old Emmanuel Dominguez since Nov. 1, when he attended that party on the West Side.

Family members say Dominguez started a new job as a bartender at the Dana Hotel only a few months ago. They insist he had no history of long absences and no reason to simply disappear.

WEST TOWN — The family of a 30-year-old man who was last seen outside a Halloween party in West Town is seeking public help in locating him.

Emmanuel "Manny" Dominguez, of southwest suburban Summit, hasn't been seen since Nov. 1, his family said Tuesday.

"The only thing we found was his car. He went to a Halloween party by Damen Avenue and Walnut Street," said Mauricio Vergara, a brother-in-law of Dominguez.

Dominguez has three brothers and four sisters helping in the search for him.

Vergara said Dominguez left his car parked outside the party, held a couple blocks north of the United Center. The car was discovered Friday "once we realized nobody has seen Emmanuel," Vergara said.

Wow, good looking guy! Wondering if maybe his ex has a jealous boyfriend they ran into?

Not feeling good about this...whenever a guy disappears after a party it never seems to end well.

This article says his (ex?) girlfriend and him were in a car with additional people he didn't know.

That's a detail I hadn't noticed before. This article also says girlfriend instead of ex, so I am wondering how accurate it is. It really elaborates on their relationship, though:

Relatives noticed Dominguez, who lives in Summit but often stays with his girlfriend at her place on the North Side, was missing four days after the Halloween party. His car was found near the party, according to Summit Police Chief Les Peterson, who has been working with Chicago Police Department to help find Dominguez.

Wow! I wonder if the friend came forward sooner and we just didn't find out at the same time. But if he waited, I want to know why. Where were they? What were they doing? Who were they with? Pretty shady if he didn't come forward quickly.

Terrible weather just headed through Chicagoland. Hoping he's alive and safe indoors somewhere. They had to evacuate soldier field (bears stadium) and lots of tornado watches and warnings. Hopefully he's just with another group of friends somewhere.

Emmanuel Dominguez was identified Thursday by the Lake County coroner's office, according to the NWI Times.

"Police say Dominguez was found with multiple stab wounds in Gary two days after he vanished.

But they had to wait for the results of a DNA test to identify his remains because he had been badly burned."

I know topix isn't more than hearsay, but a lot of interesting convo going on. I hope his family finds justice.

Now that we know this crime crossed state lines, it's a federal case. I hope they bring the heat to get quick answers.

I can't believe this case turned out this way. What scary people he either knew or ran into that night.
