Federal and Local Law Enforcement Agencies Seek New Tips to Find Missing Girl

The Charlotte Division of the FBI and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are seeking new tips to find a teenage girl who has been missing for more than two years. Rachel Natacha Owens was last seen getting into a car outside of her school on May 5, 2011. Rachel rode the school bus to South Brunswick High School in Boiling Spring Lakes. She then got off the bus and was seen on surveillance video getting into a small, dark-colored car with a possible South Carolina license plate.
Rachel has run away in the past but has never been gone this length of time. She has expressed a desire to go to Mexico and may be going by the name “Raquel.” Rachel has not had contact with any family members or friends since the day she left her high school.

Rachel Natacha Owens was last seen getting off her school bus at South Brunswick High School in Boiling Springs Lakes, North Carolina, on the morning of May 5, 2011. She then entered a small, dark-colored car with what may have been South Carolina license plates. Owens has run away in the past, but has never been gone this length of time. She has not had any contact with her family or friends since leaving the school.

According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Emily Flax, Rachel Natacha Owens, 17, was last seen getting off the school bus the morning of May 5, 2011, in Boiling Spring Lakes.
Owens was spotted entering a small vehicle with South Carolina tags, Flax said. Flax said Owens has run away in the past and was found in the company of 24-year-old Santos Pacheco-Sarmiento.''

Such a long time. Sad. I don't have anything to add about the case itself, but it's so disheartening to see these young girls' unstable sense of self being used by predators as an access point.It's a magical world, Hobbes, ol' buddy.

I hope she comes home soon. She certainly could have run away until she turns 18, then will hopefully come back now that she would be considered an adult. I'm hope she's still with us. Not that this matters much, but she sure doesn't look 15 or 17. Again, not that that matters much.

The family should put up a facebook page for her. There are many fb users in Mexico.

This is the guy, right? Arrested 2 months ago in Wilmington, New Hanover, NC.
Violation: "ICE hold" - Immigration and Customs Enforcement Hold.
So where is Rachel? Are they questioning him about her too?

I have lived in several states, in the past, due to my husband's job. I lived in Brunswick Co and the closest place for someone to come from SC is Myrtle Beach. She could get lost there for sure. Back in 2011, did this young girl have a passport to cross into Mexico? Or maybe her "friend" was very clever at border crossing?
