UK - CI Tim Frohwein, 48, Buxton, Derbyshire, 17 Nov 2013

    Thanks RH

    Message sent by
Samantha Hancock (Police, Pre Crime Unit Manager, Nottinghamshire)

MESSAGE SENT ON BEHALF OF DERBYSHIRE POLICE

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of Chief Inspector Tim Frohwein who has been missing from his home in Buxton since Sunday November 17.

Tim is believed to have left his home sometime after 1.20pm and someone he knows saw him walking along the Old Roman Road out of the town at about 1.30pm.

Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins said: We know at that time there were several off-road bikers and about 20 ramblers in the area and we are sure they will have seen Tim as he walked into the countryside.

We have no idea which route he took so it is vital that we talk to people who saw him.

"This is completely out-of-character for Tim and as the weather has been so cold recently we are very worried about his welfare."

Tim is 6ft 3ins tall and has dark hair and glasses. He was wearing a length dark coat, pale blue shirt and brown jeans. He was probably carrying a walking pole.

Extensive searches by police and Mountain Rescue volunteers have been conducted since his disappearance. Those searches are continuing.
Anyone who can help the police investigation should contact officers on 101.
    and see Daily Mail....

This sounds very similar to a story from years ago....but in the Peak District, maybe?

I hope it doesn't end the same way.

    This one, perhaps:

Manchester police chief Michael Todd found dead at bottom of cliff. (Telegraph)
One of Britain's most senior policemen has been found dead after apparently throwing himself off a cliff in Snowdonia.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

We are all one poor choice from being a subject on this forum. Think twice.

What a shame. I don't think there is any doubt it is him. Many condolences to Tim Frohwein's family, friends and colleagues.

    Rest in Peace, Tim.

I think it is very likely it is Tim's own friends and workmates in the police were the ones who found him and brought him home. That must have been very hard. Many condolences guys.

There will I think be an inquest but for now "no suspicious circumstances" were noted - indicating he most probably did not die at the hands of another.
