    Franklin Payne

74 year old Franklin Payne has gone missing the Lacey's Spring area in Alabama. Payne is described as 5’10″ and weighs about 175 pounds with dementia. He has white hair, blue eyes. He is thought to be wearing black pants, a black jacket, a dark-colored t-shirt and black shoes. He may also have two dogs with him, black and white Shih Tzus.

He was last seen in the early morning hours of 1 am on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. His home is located on Pinehill Circle in Lacey’s Spring, behind some family members who were taking care of him.

According to LE, Payne may tell people he’s going to ‘Huntsville, Texas’ and may also say he’s 47 years old.

LACEY'S SPRING — A man told authorities Thursday he may have given a ride to a missing Lacey's Spring resident on or about the same day he was reported missing.

Also, Sgt. Chad Smith, an investigator with the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, said the two Shih Tzu dogs Franklin Payne had with him the day he disappeared returned home in good shape a week ago Friday.

It seems a little strange Mr Payne was fond enough to take his dogs with him, but then is thought to have abandoned them to hitch a ride.

I wish the use of GPS shoes was more widespread - I am sure it could save so much heartbreak. Is this a silver alert?

Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin confirms that the body has been found in a dry creek bed in a field near Dry Creek Cove Road belongs to 74-year-old Franklin Payne, missing since early December.

Franklin said that an autopsy will need to be performed on the body, but she feels confident that the body is Payne’s.
