    AL - David Taylor, 43, Autaugaville, 8 December 2013

    David Taylor

Emergency responders and county sheriff's officials are working together in a search for a missing Autaugaville fisherman, who was reported missing Sunday. 43-year-old, David Taylor hasn't been seen since he left for a fishing trip at a gravel pit lake. Divers found Taylor's boots and canoe floating upside down Monday.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Search for missing Autaugaville fisherman to resume Thursday. The search will resume at 9 a.m. Thursday. It will be day four of the search. The irony about David Taylor's disappearance from the water is he saved a teenage boy from drowning during a family reunion a few years ago in Calera, according to family members.

As the search continued Thursday, the 11th day, crews found a paddle. The day before, they found two fishing reels, a fishing net and a jacket. Those are the most significant items found since the first day of the search when 43-year-old David Taylor's capsized boat and boots were found.
