Orangeburg police say the video is from December 10th, the same day Lee County deputies say Shelley, 55, and Daniel Tompkins, 22, were found dead by friends at their home on Jefferson Avenue.

bumping this one!! need new info and to get this story out!! this girl needs to be found and this guy sounds like bad news!

That is...very, very, very frightening.

Honestly, other than cases where they have evidence that makes it seem someone's already been injured, this may be one of the more horrid and concerning starts to a case I recall - especially with SO little out there.

He's already wanted in a double homicide (would love to know specifics of it - like did it seem to be spur of the moment/premeditated/revenge, etc.)

He's believed to have a gun (and seems unafraid to use it - and if the murders were spontaneous it'd make it even more frightening)

She essentially doesn't know the guy - she's not been with him in person EVER until this happens.

And she's taken 1000$ that, unless it was pressure from him (which may be a factor but maybe not) it kind of looks like she's not planning on being back or found for quite some time.

I do not see this ending well. I suspect either someone else will wind up dead or else she'll get dragged into a life of crime with him.

Also concerning that it seems like mom called the cops b/c the money was stolen - it says nothing about it being b/c she noticed her missing as the cause. Wonder if she figured that out after she noticed the money?

Wow! Shocked they caught him and she was alive!

And holy cow - I think I'd have been even more worried when I read it if I had known it was his mom and brother that he'd likely killed! Yikes!

Wow...

Can't believe the murders JUST happened. Not sure if I didn't realize that before or it hadn't been said.

I guess I was right on one part...he's got her entangled in a life of crime. Now she's going to be charged also for accessory after the fact.

Unbelievable.

Glad there should be no more victims at his hands!

"Christine Myers, Steven Tompkins’ aunt, said she thinks her nephew killed the two people found dead in a Lehigh Acres home last night.

(snip)
“He’s threatened to shoot her in the past,” Myers said.

(snip)
Myers said Steven is a loner, and a little bit unstable. He was taking medication, but his mother took him off the medication because he was sleeping all the time."

OMG. Very, very sad.

The last update I could find was from June of 2016 and Steven's trial is briefly mentioned.

The last person who had the death penalty requested against them was a Lehigh Acres man named Steven Tompkins accused of killing his brother and mother in 2013.

His case is still pending, the state attorneys office said.

Joycelin Luck took a plea deal in April of 2014.

As part of the deal with the state, Luck pleaded 'no contest' to two counts of accessory to murder after the fact.

She will receive five years of probation when sentenced November 3rd. Until then, she'll return home to South Carolina and be monitored there.

Luck is also to have no contact with Tompkins, who remains in the Lee County Jail on two counts of murder.

As part of the plea deal, Luck's attorney says she will be required to testify against Tompkins at his trial.
