Police Seek Help Finding Missing Woman

Cottage Grove Police say Tammy Borda traveled from Beaverton, Oregon to Cottage Grove for the Thanksgiving
holiday.

Cottage Grove Police say Tammy and the sister had made arrangements to meet in Cottage Grove and her sister was going to give Tammy a ride back to Beaverton.

Since that conversation, Tammy has not been seen or heard from.

Cottage Grove police asks public’s help in locating 55-year-old missing woman

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Borda traveled from Beaverton to Cottage Grove, where she was planning to visit family and also was seen with a former boyfriend, David Bowen, police said.

Borda’s cell phone is turned off and its message box is full, police said. She has several medical issues and requires medication that she presumably does not currently have at hand, police said.

Daughter Pleads For Info On Missing Mom

It’s been nearly two weeks since Tammy Borda was last seen. Cottage Grove Police is investigating her disappearance. With each passing day, the family grows more and more concerned.

Tammy’s daughter, Markie Borda says she talked with her mom’s ex-boyfriend. He says Tammy left his home with her bags on Dec. 2.

Markie says she’s concerned because her mom is disabled. She can’t drive and wouldn’t just walk away. Tammy also walks with a limp.

Investigation continues into disappearance of Beaverton woman

Cottage Grove police confirm there is an active investigation underway at 1411 W Birch Avenue in Cottage Grove, in connection to the case of missing 55-year-old Tammy Borda, of Beaverton.

According to an address search, a man by the name of David Bowen lives in the home at that address. That is the same name Cottage Grove police gave as the former boyfriend of Borda, who's been missing since December 2nd.

We do know this is the home of Tammy Borda’s ex-boyfriend. Borda was last seen on Dec. 2. Although she currently lives in Beaverton, friends say she spent years living in Cottage Grove, which is why a crowd gathered at the crime scene Wednesday afternoon.

It is my understanding that Tammy use to live in Cottage Grove, but did she live with the ex boyfriend? Her daughter says she moved to be closer to her grandchildren? If it is true that the ex would beat her during alcoholic rages, I would think that would have been a huge factor in her moving to Beaverton. It is too bad she did not stay completely away from him. I wonder how long they have been broken up and how often they had seen each other prior to Thanksgiving?

I live near the Beaverton area and the local news has been reporting on it. My heart goes out to her family and friends, I cannot imagine what they are going through. I hope she is found soon.

P.S. This is the first time I have used "snips" from an online article...I hope I did this right and if not, could someone tell me what I did wrong? :help:

It sounds to as though Tammy may have stopped for a visit for any one of a dozen reasons - she was asked to/issues to settle if she still had things at the home, etc? LE must have had good reason to obtain a search warrant. I'm wondering if there is/was anyone else living at the home, besides Tammy's ex?

There may be news today, I think.
 
From the article above it doesn't seem as though Tammy had her own transport, so she didn't drive herself off anywhere.

Boyfriend says she walked away from the house.
Sister says Tammy had trouble walking far and wasn't likely to have done that.

Please people.. if your family member or friend wants to go back to her ex' place, don't ever let her go alone. Even if you have to tail them like a secret agent.
 
Cottage Grove man accused of killing missing Beaverton woman

David Bryon Bowen, 42, is scheduled to be arraigned in Lane County Circuit Court Thursday afternoon on charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and evidence tampering, said Patty Perlow, Lane County chief deputy district attorney.

He is accused of killing Tammy Borda, 55, of Beaverton, who was in Cottage Grove for Thanksgiving visiting family, met with her ex-boyfriend Bowen at one point and was reported missing Dec. 2 when her family could not locate her, Cottage Grove police said.
