SEATTLE (AP) — Surveillance video from a Metro bus in Seattle shows the dramatic takedown of an armed man who was robbing passengers of their phones.

The video from Nov. 25 is evidence in the case against 19-year-old Trevonnte Brown of Seattle. He pleaded not guilty on Monday to robbery charges and is jailed with bail set at $350,000.

The video shows a man -- who police identify as Brown -- pull out a handgun and rob two passengers of their cell phones. As he walks toward the front of the bus, the robber stops and points his gun in the face of a seated passenger.

That passenger stands up and lunges at the gunman, which sparks a melee that ends with several other passengers holding the robber on the ground.

Great video! Great to see men standing up to thugs instead of cowering beneath them.

Looks like one of them starts wrapping the cord of the hoodie around the thugs neck too, good thinking that, choking them with a belt or cord will take the fight out of them.

In this video his mother cries "that's not my son...and I know they are going to try to railroad him for everything that everybody else is doing" and the reporter says "he has no criminal past". A friend said "he has never done anything like that before."

So sounds like this is a good guy who just happened to make a mistake right?

In the video, a witness says he was kicking the window of the police car and finally he breaks it...?

At the end of the video the reporter he had a theft charge in his past but his mother was able to get that dropped!

In this article it says "Charging documents say Brown confessed to police, said he did not regret what he had done, and “confessed to being involved in multiple additional thefts and robberies over the past few years.”"

So, actually it appears that is her son.

Rather than making excuses for him, this mother needs to get her son to take responsibility for his actions.
