Melvin Giles, Oct. 26, 2000
Anne Giles was in the walk-in freezer at the store she and her husband owned when she heard gunshots.
She looked out of the freezer and saw her husband, 75-year-old Melvin Giles, lying on the floor, bleeding, with money dropped beside him. She also saw a black man running out the door of Giles Deli and Convenience Store on U.S. 460 near Mount Athos in Campbell County.
Over the past decade, investigators have conducted hundreds of interviews but are still missing the one piece that will lead them to the killer.
