    SC - Heather Elvis, 20, Myrtle Beach, 18 Dec 2013 - #1

Horry County police are searching for Heather Elvis, 20, of Socastee after she was reported missing Thursday night by her father, according to Lt. Robert Kegler with Horry County police.

Officials used boats from Horry County, Myrtle Beach, and the Department of Natural Resources, along with the State Law Enforcement helicopter, to search the Intracoastal Waterway at Peachtree Landing where Elvis' car was found, Kegler added.

At this time, police say they haven't found any sign that she's been in or near the water.

Kegler said Elvis was last seen at her parents house on Tuesday night and the last time her cell phone pinged was Wednesday morning at 3 a.m.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Wonder if she had worked that night? Maybe flirted with the wrong guy? I used to waitress back in college. If flirting and acting interested was going to get you a good tip, you did it. Maybe he thought she really "wanted" him? I wonder if there is surveillance of her leaving work and anyone watching/following her in the parking lot?

I can feel her parents' anguish in their posts. I hope they find their beautiful daughter.

I have been to that area, but don't know how far this is from her parents home, or her work. She is a pretty young lady. I hope they can get her cell phone records asap.

Not to disparage any employees or customers, but for anyone unfamiliar, Tilted Kilt is rather similar to Hooters in terms of uniform and general atmosphere. That presents many an opportunity for an infatuated patron to take it too far, if there is indeed foul play suspected. (My friend worked at a location and described quite vividly some of the interactions that were common).

Hoping this is will all get cleared up soon without any such speculation even being necessary!

4 days and nothing?! Who was the last interaction at 3am with? Did she have a b/f that may have been jealous of her job and the attention?

If you watch the video from the link:
The reporter states : "a woman who lives near the landing, michael, says she saw a car parked here since MONDAY night. the car was facing the water, she says it looked a little strange so she called the police thinking the car may have been stolen"

found that interesting for some reason :-/
