FL - Dominic Porcaro, 64, Juno Beach, 19 Dec 2013

    Dominic Porcaro

The U.S. Coast Guard have been searching for 64 year old Dominic Porcaro, whose 26-foot vessel, "Happy Day Tree," washed onto the shore near the Jupiter Inlet on Friday morning, December 20, 2013, with a damaged bow. Thus far, the Coast Guard has searched for Dominic for about 50 hours, covered 2,900 square nautical miles from the Lake Worth Inlet to Jupiter Inlet, but wasn't able to locate him. The search for the missing man has now been suspended indefinitely.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Missing Jupiter man arrested on DUI charge day before boat found abandoned.

    I found this quite interesting...
The 64-year-old Jupiter man who prompted a U.S. Coast Guard search after his boat was found Friday abandoned near the Jupiter Inlet was arrested Wednesday night on a DUI charge, according to court records.
Dominic Porcaro was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 2:09 a.m. Thursday and released on his own recognizance at 6:35 a.m.
The obvious question is did his arrest have some sort of bearing on him being missing now?

It was also stated that besides the "significant" damage on the bow of the vessel, there was no signs of blood or any "personal artifacts." Some of the moving violations that Porcaro allegedly committed was driving too slowly, stopping well beyond the solid white line at a red light, and driving on the wrong side of a two-way road according to a probable cause affidavit. Porcaro failed the roadside sobriety test.

One other interesting side note is that Dominicís younger brother, John Anthony Porcaro, was an alleged associate of the Gambino crime family in New York according to the FBI and was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2003 for his involvement in a South Florida telemarketing scheme which defrauded more than 400 people of more than $5 million.

John was legally declared dead in August of 2000 after having been missing since 1998. Very interesting story. Makes me wonder whether or not this was a disappearance was just a ploy.

Interestingly bright idea. I'd love to see what comes of that...

I've read today on the Palm Beach Post that LE has found a body on the beach in nearby Jupirter FL.

No identity yet re: the body.

(I will post a link once the ID is made if it relates to this thread).

Re: my above post----the body pulled from the water at Jupiter beach is that of a Senior woman who has been missing since mid-December.

Obviously not related to this Porcaro thread.
