Should have had you do it :) This is in my neighborhood and have been following the story. I didn't want to post until I heard that a missing flyer would be issued but can't find that...

I missed the presser this afternoon and will watch the news @ 5pm. IMO there was speculation that he was a POI and now they seem to be changing the story and have issued a missing person flyer. This is why I did not post it before.

"At Thursday's news conference, Police Lt. Mike Hastings did not have any new information about the case, except that investigators do not believe a robbery took place during the shooting.

"As of this juncture, we still do not know a motive why this occurred," Hastings said.

Officials have warned news outlets not to jump to conclusions about a motive."

"The shooting happened near a Christmas tree lot and the Macy's, which was open until 2 a.m. to accommodate Christmas shoppers. Both were found in a black Toyota Camry with Utah license plates, police said.

A possible suspect -- described only as a man up to about 5 feet 11 inches in tan pants -- may have fled in a dark gray 2008-2011 Honda, police said."

Another picture of Gianni (2nd from right), Ilona and Salvatore (3rd from right). I am wondering about the 911 call Ilona placed after the shooting. She had trouble describing exactly where she was parked in the Mall and succumbed to her injuries by the time police arrived. I would certainly think the 911 operator asked where are you and WHO shot you?

I agree, I'd think that would be the second or third questioned asked but maybe she didn't say where she was parked because she became unable to articulate.
 
Hoping Salvatore pulls through. Such a shock this happened at that particular mall. I'm in that area quite a bit (and have been to that mall on numerous occasions), it's a very busy place and always felt safe. There has to be plenty of security footage.
 
My neck of the woods, too! This is one busy mall at Christmas - it is just north of the main East/West freeway (Interstate 8) that runs through central San Diego. There is a freeway onramp to West 8 that is just west of the parking lot where this shooting happened.

I've lived here 25+ years, go to this mall at least once a month and would probably still have problems telling a dispatcher where I was in an emergency...

Scary and sad.....I've always felt very safe in that area - even late at night!
