Keith Stompro, 66, last seen December 14th, 2013 in Fairbanks, Alaska (my home state, by the way). Stompro checked into Pike’s Waterfront Lodge in Fairbanks on December 10th. He was supposed to stay until December 20th, but since he hadn't been seen since the 14th, the lodge contacted authorities on December 20th.

While Stompro was in Anchorage, he rented a car to drive to Fairbanks, but while he was driving, he ran into a herd of caribou near Cantwell on December 10th. The car was totaled, but he caught a ride to Fairbanks to check into Pike's Lodge.

Height - 5' 9"
Weight - 165 lbs.
Stompro is an Arizona (where I went to school and lived, BTW) native. He is a white male with hazel eyes and graying brown hair.

On thing that gets me about this, other than the fact it involves 2 of my states is the fact that Fairbanks gets damn cold in the winter. I'm not sure what happened to him, but I think chances are is that his frozen remains MAY be found at some point. With bears and other animals in Alaska that I grew up in and with, chances aren't looking too good.

One other thing that I forgot to mention, is that apparently he came to Alaska in November of 2013.

A public records search turns up a Phoenix address for Stompro, and a background in finance. On Twitter, he identifies himself as an entrepreneur and a former U.S. Army officer. His most recent tweet was sent June 21.

So much conflicting in my head. He left a lot of stuff behind in his room. A rational person (IMO) doesn't leave belongings in the hotel, rather than check out, before moving onto the next part of their getaway.

Where was he going before the car crash? That could be telling.

I want to know his health history, only because I wonder if he has any sort of depression or anxiety or even a medical condition that could trigger some irrational thinking. But they don't mention that in the article.

Absolutely baffling!

Troopers search for clues in Alaska disappearance of Arizona man

Troopers are still looking for clues in the disappearance of an Arizona man from a hotel in Fairbanks more than two weeks ago.

I wonder if he was potentially disoriented from the crash? I can’t find any reports of any injuries he may have sustained, but it doesn’t seem like he went to the hospital or was even examined by any medical professionals. If the car was totaled, it’s possible he suffered some sort of brain injury that was not visible to the naked eye, which may have caused him to wander off. The Alaskan wilderness is so unforgiving :(
